A: Pours golden clear color, good bubbly head, good lacing
S: Peppery, grassy and slighly fruity (apple possibly)
T: Sharp hoppy flavor, bitter/dry finish
M: Light bodied, about right on with the carbonation
D: Not my style of choice normally but this is a very good beer in my opinion, would try again

This beer has a nice gold color to it, and is very clear. It is well carbonated and pours with a nice thick white/ cream head. The aroma is herbal and slightly grassy in a hoppy sort of way. From the first taste it is hops, there is a nice clean bitterness to it with subdued hop flavor. It is nice dry and refreshing, with a bit of maltiness as well.

I picked up a couple of these at an import shop to taste and review. I poured this beer in to a pilsner glass.

Pours a pale straw yellow color and is a little hazy.* Appears effervescent, with many bubbles rising through the beer. Wispy, champagne like, quarter inch head is fairly resilient and laces the side of the glass nicely. The head is thin but resilient.

The smell is a little weak, but fruity. There is also a faint hop aroma

The taste is fruity, citrus, lemon and grapefruit, with a mild bitter hop finish. The aftertaste is very faint and short-lived.

Mouth feel is light, crisp and refreshing.

This is a drinkable beer. The flavors are mild, yet full-bodied. I think it’s a little hopped up for a pilsner, and I think tastes a little like an IPA, but the flavors are reasonably well balanced. I would certainly drink Blue Paddle again.

* The beer is a little colder than recommended and may be suffering chill haze. A second warmer bottle was clearer.
