Notes from the back of a coaster dated 12-4-13.
12 oz. tulip on tap at Ed's in Winona, MN. Hazy straw/orange color with a few white bubbles. Good lacing, but small white head.
Aroma is predominately fruity, mostly plum and apricot jam (as one could imagine). Mild funk and booze flavors. Pale malt along with a definitely spicy (mostly clove) yeast. Slight chardonnay type smell.
Flavor is fruit, alcohol, and sour. Apricot and plum are of course dominant as in the nose. Flavor is sweet but not cloying, and the alcohol is definitely noticeable but not overpowering.
Medium-bodied with good carbonation. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel.
Overall this is a beer that will scare most people away, but I loved it. Very, very complex with just enough funk to cut through the sweet fruitiness.
