22 ounce bottle - $8.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Best Enjoyed By May 2014.

Appearance: Pours a moderately hazed, darkish golden-orange body with an initially tall, white head that swiftly collapses. Little wisps of lacing on the way down.

Smell: Pale, pils malts, a bit bready with a thin sweet-scented quality to it akin to a distant sniff of honey-based candy. Then, raw peach puree. Spicy accents, culminated from the rye, alcohol, spicing, and d-lions.

Taste: Pale malts, slight bready, pils accents with some muddled honey sweetness. Hint of a bellini. Very restrained hint of the Grains of Paradise, which, as it is a spice I'm not too particularly keen on, is a positive. Slight additional bite from the phenolics, the dandelion greens, the rye, and the alcohol. Mild butyric acid quality, as the sourish addition rolls in. Creamyish, lightly sour, lightly peach-laden finish with a lingering alcoholic warmth and slight spiciness.

Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Slight creamy, mouth-coating quality.

Overall: Horseflowers!

At the risk of being crude, it looks like a urine sample from someone who is slightly dehydrated. Cloudy, dark yellow with an off-white foamy head.

Quite a bouquet on the nose. Flowers, fruit, and wood blending together nicely. Getting some funky cheese now and then.

Interesting...first thought: too much with the peach juice. It does taste a little bit like grassy weeds along with something new I'm guessing is the grains of paradise. A little too sweet for my taste, almost a wine cooler bite.

Surprisingly full bodied given its lighter color. Leaves a waxy fruit coating.

I wanted this to be a nice summer beer, but ultimately it's too heavy in the fruitiness, mouthfeel, and booziness.

22 oz bottle. Pours hazy yellow orange with a medium creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet tart fruits, some bready malt and a bit of funk.

The flavor is sweet bready malts with some tart tropical fruits, some funk, vinous notes and herbal notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, an interesting fruity funky belgian.

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a New Belgium Globe glass. Bottle says enjoy by May of 2014.

Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid two fingers of off white head that recede into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a lot of creamy lacing on the glass.

Smell: A juicy, sweet, tart, and fairly funky Belgian tinged aroma. Very fruity and juicy upfront with a big scent of peach. Also some fruit hints of apple, white grapes, pear, and a little citrus orange. Belgian yeast with hints of funk and some clove and white pepper spicing. Floral and grassy hints from the dandelion greens. Slight hints of wood. Pale malt with hints of wheat, grains, cracker, and biscuit. A pretty interesting and nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a juicy, tart, and sweet fruit driven taste with some nice notes of funky spice and flowers. Big taste of peach fruit upfront along with some fruit notes of white grapes, apple, pear, and orange. Kind of wine like. Belgian yeast provides some notes of funk. Spice notes of white pepper and clove. Noticeable floral notes which must come from the dandelion greens. Soft bready malt background with notes of grains, wheat, biscuit, and cracker. Light presence of wood. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Juicy, tart, and somewhat syrupy. Finishes fairly dry. Alcohol heat is minimal.

Overall: This came out pretty good. Sweet but far from cloying. Nice wine like fruit notes with some funky yeast and an interesting kick from the greens.

22oz bottle, thanks once again to doktorzee for the cross-border souvenir from his tour of Colorado breweries this past month. Slick, tactile label. Paardebloem means 'dandelion' in Dutch, which I suppose pays heed to the style's origins, and one of the guest ingredients.

This beer pours a cloudy, bright golden amber hue, with one finger of briefly apparent, thinly foamy, bone-white head, which leaves a vast array of tree stump lace around the glass as it quickly fades away.

It smells of mild grainy pale malt, a decent apple and pear fruitiness, mild Belgian yeast, a soft citric tartness, and weedy, grassy hops. The taste is semi-sweet, somewhat alcohol-tinged pale malt, a Belgian candi sugar character affecting it to a certain degree, more diluted drupe fruitiness, soft earthy, peppery yeast, mild weedy greens, and a hint of astringent woodiness.

The bubbles are average, and decently supportive, the body an adequate medium-heavy weight for the style, and more or less smooth. It finishes definitely on the sweet side, as the pale malt kicks it up a notch, the guest fruit sugars stick in, and the yeast and hop notes fade into the ether.

An agreeable enough BSPA, especially the 'strong' part of the equation, seeing as the alcohol presence is so understated here. An asset to focus on, to be sure, as I'm not specifically enamoured with anything else going on here.
