A - Bright and clear bronzed amber in color, Pumpkick has a towering ivory head that cakes the glass in lace as it slowly descends.
S - Totally evocative of fall, the aroma is ripe with roasted pumpkin and a myriad of the classic spices from cinnamon and clove to nutmeg and allspice, the latter two posturing the most. Earthy hop notes and sweet caramel malt care underlying but it's hard to smell any cranberry in this pumpkin beer.
T - Surprisingly crisp and clean, the malt base adds little sweetness to this drinkable fall beer opting for the continued forward presence of spice which is trailed closely by pumpkin rind and a suggestion of tart cranberry skin.
M - Easy drinking due to it's lighter body, Pumpkick has a crisp and clean finish that feels more like a lager as it lingers with delicate spice and even more delicate cranberry tartness on the tongue.
O - The presence of the pumpkin and spice is top-notch in Pumpkick, really landing in a flavorful-yet-drinkable zone that's perfect for it's late fall release - not too heavy or sweet but just right. Without a doubt, one of my go-to fall beers this year.
