A - Poured a nice head with pretty good retention, eventually falling to a thin cap. Some lacing. Color is a deep hazy copper and slightly reddish hues.

S - Citrusy, a little bit of pumpkin spice, some hops citrus smell but also the cranberry smell.

T - A lot of flavor here but at the same time not overpowering at all. The flavor is very layered. Up front the I get the pumpkin flavor, followed pretty quickly by the cranberry flavor. Behind that I get just a hit of cinnamon that fades quickly, and finally after the other flavors have faded I get an aftertaste of hops bitterness.

M - creamy and full, very good for a fall seasonal.

O - One of the better pumpkin ales I have tried. I really like the variety of flavor I got from this one. The cranberry juice is a great complement to the pumpkin spice and really gives this beer some complexity that other pumpkin ales lack. I enjoy pumpkin flavors but am not as obsessed as some seem to be, but I usually give one or two of these ales a try every season. This is one that I would buy again.

Poured into a New Belgium globe glass.

The beer is a slightly hazy orangish copper color. A sudsy cream colored head calms to a film with a thick patch in the center. Light consistent lacing.

The aroma is almost citrusy, but cranberry comes through the most. Faint cinnamon on the back end.

Taste is more of a pumpkin body than was ever found in the aroma. A spicy note on the backside with tart cranberries.

Mouthfeel is both bright and slightly creamy.

Overall, I like this version of the pumpkin ale a lot. The cranberry is refreshing.

Pours a hazy amber color, with a thin off-white head. Smells of apple cider, with a strong cinnamon component. There is some nutmeg as well. Taste begins with a sweet cinnamon, then some light beechwood, then some cranberry juice, and a earthy, dry finish. Mouthfeel is a bit light. Overall a pretty good pumpkin ale.

Presentation: Very simple yet cool looking label in the New Belgium traditional style with a nice looking color scheme and nice graphics. Label gives brewery info, ABV info, serving temperature info, a small description of the beer, web info, and states “Fall Seasonal”, “New Belgium Brewing is wind powered and Employee owned”. Awesome embossed bottle!

Appearance: An aggressive pour from its 12oz brown bottle into a 16oz imperial pint led to a 3 finger golden white head of medium density atop a slightly hazy bright amber orange colored beer. Excellent retention at 4min 35sec before fading to a thick coating and right with excellent lacing.

Smell/Aroma: Smells of pumpkin spice, nutmeg, cinnamon are all very prevalent with a very slight bready malt aroma and a very slight actual real pumpkin smell. Very little if any cranberry could be detected. Smell is very good.

Flavor/Taste: Taste is of slightly tart cranberry on the front end along with cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and nutmeg also coming through. Midpoint is dominated by pumpkin spice and bready malts that finishes with a tart pumpkin spice aftertaste.

MouthFeel/Drinkability: On the light side of medium bodied with a crisp refreshing mouthfeel that finishes dry. Very Very drinkable and tasty.

Overall/Comments: This was a very good beer that was very refreshing and drinkable however had nothing that really made it stand out except for maybe the tartness; While not my favorite pumpkin beer this is still a very good and respectable offering. Classified as a Pumpkin Ale @ 6% ABV. Consumed 9/20/2013.
