This winter, IBUs start accumulating like snow in Colorado with our new Accumulation White IPA. Brewing a white IPA was not only a way to salute the white beauty falling from the sky, but a direct revolt to the longstanding tradition of brewing dark beers for winter. At least that’s what our rebellious brewer Grady Hull likes to claim as he shovels in plenty of new hop varietals and a bit of wheat for a smooth mouthfeel. Stack up a few cases of Accumulation White IPA to keep your long nights glowing blizzard white.

This is a good beer but it has a few problems that keep it from being great.

Accumulation is a white IPA that pours a flat straw color with white head. The head laces and retains well. The aroma is up front and hoppy! Floral and bitter. Not much of the wheat malt coming through or the yeast. This is the problem with the beer imo. The taste, which follows the nose, is entirely hop based. Now that isn't a bad thing but it leads to an unbalanced beer that is only fun to drink if you want a hop only beer experience. I'd like a more balanced beer with this same hop profile. Something with a more biscuit and caramel flavor. As is the wheat based malt bill and yeast are just too shallow with the overpowering hops this brew has.

Check it out if you're a hop head but this isn't worth a six pack purchase imo. Just another IPA on the market. le sigh.

Enjoy by 3/22/15. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours a pale yellow with a slight haze; chunky eggshell white head that sticks around and leaves great lacing and retention. Great looking brew. The aromas have lots of lemon zest. More subtle citrus notes. Some grapefruit. Some malts in the mix. Smells like your typical New Belgium hoppy beer. The Belgian aspects almost seem non-existent, although they're ultimately there. The flavors are bittersweet and refreshing. More citrus notes. More lemon and lime. Hints of wheat. Lots of fresh grass. Hints of caramel. There's a nice little bitterness, but it's far from overwhelming. Finishes pretty clean. Mouthfeel is nice. It's medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth and easy drinking. Alcohol goes unnoticed.

This is a fun beer to drink, but isn't overly impressive. Like I said before, it's your typical New Belgium hoppy beer with a subtle kiss of wheat.

Presentation: Tulip Glass

Appearance: A light golden color w. a haziness.

Smell: A great floral, hoppy, fruity, citrus, wheaty wonderful aroma.

Taste: It has a powerfully floral taste with a bite of hop. A wheat undertone makes the beer taste more rounded.

One of my favorite beers I wish i could get all year-round. Has a delightfully balanced floral/hop taste that makes for a great "have to try beer".

12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

LOOK: Mildly hazed yellow straw hue, tight lacing that leaves a trail in its wake.

SMELL: CItrus zest, woody hops, tangerine, spice, grassy grain, mild evergreen

TASTE: Grassy hop, citrus peel, faint powdered aspirin, juicy hop resin, vague spicing, pale malt, ample bitterness, dry graininess, long lingering hop finish

Perhaps more of an IPA than White Ale, tasty none the less and a good switch up on the whole seasonal thing.

12 oz bottle, w/ best before dating

Hazed yellowy amber, off white head, leaving a smattering of fine lace.

Grapefruit nose thats on the tame side

Tasty and lighter bodied IPA with grapefruit notes all the way through it.

Decent if not spectacular.
