Found this at my local Beermuda mixed and matched for around 2 dollars. Into a pint glass.
A - Very nice deep brown color with a 1/2 inch of mocha head that sticks around for quite a bit. Really good looking medium body on this brown.
S - Very strong toasted coconut with chocolate malt tones. Not subtle in any way just in your face. Getting some underlining hazelnut smells from the brown ale as well. Sweet.
T - Pretty much like Kona's Koko Brown but much more robust toasted coconut and great chocolate malt tones. Finish is rather sweet with some hazelnut twang and some hops. Really loving it.
M - Light to medium somewhat chewy. Decent body.

Overall this is a winner what a great experimental brew. I had my doubts with this since most beers they make are rather lackluster but this may be the best beer I had from them to date. I have never experienced such robust coconut flavor in a beer so if thats your thing BUY THIS NOW!

Only my second Duclaw beer I have tried.Pours a russet brown with a creamy textured light beige head atop that leaves an almost full ring of lace as it settles into a frothy mass.Toasted coconut stands out in the nose along with mild milk chocolate.Although not a fan of coconut it's pleasant on the palate and goes well with the chocolate notes.Again not a fan of coconut so much but this is a pretty darn good beer.

From a 12oz bottle dated 8/14, poured into a tulip.
L- dark caramel. Nice rising bubbles that dissipate in about 30 seconds.
S- like a Mounds bar
T- like a Mounds bar
F- high carbonation is nice, especially given the heavy flavors.

Love the combination of coconut, chocolate, and caramel. This one is like drinking a beer version of Almond Joy. I could have several of these.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a pretty, completely opaque, pitch-black color with an eighth of a finger of off-white head that completely dissolved away into no head what-so-ever.

Aroma: Interesting aromas of roasted malt, imparting notes of toasted dark bread, followed by some aromas of toasted coconut, dry-roasted peanuts, a touch of vanilla and brown sugar. Very earthy and enticing.

Taste: Very nice flavors of toasted malt and coconut up front, followed by some molasses and brown sugar-like sweetness, finished by some nicely balanced hops. Quite interesting and quite good.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and pretty smooth, as there is no carbonation to speak of, what-so-ever. With an ABV of 5.8%, there is no alcohol present on the palate.

Overall: A very interesting and quite good beer. I like the earthy aromas and flavors. I’d certainly get it again.

DuClaw "Dirty Little Freak"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, freshness dating is illegible
$1.83 @ Weis Market, Conshohocken, PA

Appearance: Hazy deep mahogany body. Khaki colored head. Limited head retention and lacing.

Aroma: Caramel, fudge, coconut, nuttiness, vanilla.

Flavor: Coconut is fairly strong, followed by chocolatey and caramel notes giving it the distinct characteristics of an "Almond Joy" candy bar. It's delicious, but a little bit of a one-trick pony. It finishes fairly quickly but leaves behind quite a bit of residual coconut, and a mild bitterness. There is one off-note to the finish, which I originally thought might be alcohol, but now feel is actually coming from the "natural flavors" which have been added. It's a little bit chemical, giving it a drying, somewhat solvent-like nature but overall it's balanced, and the limited, drying finish gives it perhaps a greater drinkability than if there were more malts and sweetness there.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light to medium in body; median carbonation level. Gently bristling across the palate.

Overall: Really interesting right up front. Great coconut, toasted coconut, and caramel/fudge flavors. Balanced and drinkable. Additionally, I think this would make a great dessert beer, and it would probably make for some great, unusual and unexpected food pairings. For straight-forward drinkability, however, the coconut ultimately becomes the main component, overshadowing the base malts, and it's not really compelling enough to want a second within any given session.
