Our full-bodied, 9.5% abv Ryewine, Brimstone, is mahogany in color and built on equal measures of smoky roasted malt and sizzling hop bitterness, accentuated by glowing embers of warm bread, dark fruit esters, and a dry, spicy rye character that smolders from your first sip to its long, lingering finish. Drink up, and get stoned!

Poured a reddish brown body with one finger head and lace. A boozy, dark fruit aroma that is akin to raisins or plums and there is a little bit of sugary sweetness. Thick bodied, a little chewy, there are balanced flavors of candi sugar/yeast one finds in a Belgian ale, plus some strong notes of raisins/plums and there is a bit of sharp citric notes like orange. Finishes hot thanks to some booze and spiciness and is a pretty good beer to sip on.

Murky dark brown with a tan ring. Smell is laced with wheat, rye, dark fruit and caramel malts, great earth and spices back up. Taste has a hint of orange peel which was odd, but otherwise the same, almost seems to have some winter warmer influences. Feel is medium bodied for style, warm, chewy, but not very robust. Good gateway for the style

Bottle purchased 9/'15, packaged 4/'14. I saw this on shelf, and purchased it despite its age. I generally enjoy (barley)wines with some age on them. This one turned out to be past its time, or was not stored well in retail. Nice mahogany color, somewhat unattractive head. The taste and smell were cloyingly sweet and malty. Any trace of hop was gone, and I didnt notice much of a rye bite at all. I would revisit this if I can find a recent bottling, but I will not grab an old one again.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.
L: Pours a deep semi-transparent mahogany. 2 fingers of tannish head leave modest lacing.
S: Malts and molasses mixed with hops and rye. Sweet and pungent.
T/F: Malty sweetness and dark fruits up front. Old fashioned candies and molasses... brown sugar and raisins. Gives way to a nice rye bite at the finish with a bit of hops to keep it honest.
O: A delicious sipper, and relatively drinkable given it's high ABV. The flavor becomes more complex and enjoyable as it warms, and one I'll be picking up again with intent to age.

A: The beer is clear dark Amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high frothy beige head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of oranges and rye are present in the nose along with hints of raisins.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste starts off with with fruity flavors of candied oranges and raisins and finishes with spicy flavors of rye that linger into the finish. Only faint amounts of alcohol are perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting wheatwine with contrasting flavors of fruit and spicy rye. It is also rather drinkable considering its strength.
