Nice IPA. I've had 3 other beers from this brewery and, with the exception of Sweet Baby Jesus, they have been enjoyable.

Pours a bright light copper color, slightly hazy. It takes a hard pour, but you get a good sized off-white head for your efforts. Good lacing on the glass.

Smell is mild IPA, some bitterness and citrus and piney aspects.

Tastes pretty good. The label says there are 7 different hops involved with this beer. There is strong evidence of both citrus and piney hops. Hops win out over malt but there is a balance with some sweet caramel malt. Overall a moderate bitterness is the primary flavor.

Mouthfeel is crisp and rich enough for the style. Nice bitterness, but there is some balance here too.

Good AIPA, nothing exceptional, but still a solid beer.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Burley Oak snifter

A: Clear copper body with a nice pencil thick head that lasts for a decent amount of time.

S: The hops dominate, but they aren't super powerful. Actually, the meld pretty well with the malts that permeate towards the end.

T: Straight hops that have an odd flavor, with an interesting malt profile as well. A bit sweet and malty, which seem to dominate as it warms. Slightly resinous on the aftertaste.

M: Smooth, with a bit of froth and no sharp carbonation at all.

O: A nice, solid IPA from DuClaw, and actually my first regular IPA that I've had from them.

A: Tangerine pour with a healthy, oatmeal colored head atop with a quick-paced and glass consuming effervesce within. Good clarity, very light haze, while the head retention was sturdy in its stay. Thick, solid band of foam lace.

S: Lightly dry oranges and pine for aroma of moderate intentions. Dry barley stalks on the trail.

T: Flavor showed bitter orange peels and dry grapefruit. There was a quick flash of hop spiciness, sweet malt pine and spicy oranges all combining with a bittering floral hop nature. Dry hoppy spiciness lingers there-after a bit on the tongue with a toasted malt dryness.

M: Body feels creamy, mid-fullness, dry and bitter.

O: Overall a pretty good wallop of hops, dry, bittering and spicy with a good lingering effect. Fairly good drinkability. One of the better duclaw beers ive had.
