12 oz.

Pours a slightly hazy effervescent golden with a sugar white lacing for a head.

Smells of fresh grassy malts, lemon citrus, and grapefruit zest.

Tastes of freshy grassy malt with citrus, a mild dry hoppiness, and a subtle twang of grapefruit than is barely detectable.

Medium body with stinging carbonation on the roof of the mouth.

A decent sessionable ale that would be good in warm weather. The grapefruit is hardly noticeable. I wish it was more pronounced. It could have made this beer unique, but it's just an above average but forgettable ale.

Found this in my mix six section at the local house of 1,000 beers. Into a pint glass

A - Ew sediment all though out this beer making for a chunky yellow color. Head is a decent 1/4 inch that pulls back to a creamy lacing ring.
S - Orange zest, earthy hops, tangy grapefruit really make for a very interesting blonde.
T - Orange punch like goodness meets mild earthy pine quite bitter at times which is exceptional for a blonde. It doesn't come off too sweet from this or too bitter from the grapefruit. Quite nice.
M - Quite smooth in fact I chugged it down quickly. Its a good light summer beer.

Overall I really like fruit beers and this one is exceptionally done with hoppy bitterness and raw grapefruit flesh. Give it a try!

12 oz bottle into a goblet.

A: Pours a...um...blonde color. Yeah, didn't see that coming. The head is a finger high with a white shade. It's pretty creamy but not that well retaining. A webbed ring of lacing is left on the glass.

S: At first whiff, a subtle note of English hops make themselves known. It's fairly earthy and even a mite grassy. After opening up a bit, the grapefruit peel comes into play. After opening up a lot, I'm picking up some of the crackery blonde ale malts. Nothing wows about this nose, but it's quite well layered for the style.

T: The front end is damn near redolent of fruit punch, while the back end turns it into an earthy, UK-hopped blonde ale. It's an interesting dichotomy to be frank - honestly it kind of works. Gentle notes of cracker and table sugar come from the malts, and are constant throughout the flavor profile. The grapefruit peel is really coming through well - and doesn't come off artificially, either (ya hear that, Sweet Baby Jesus?)

M: I don't think it's as effortless as a 5% blonde ale could/should be. It's almost - dare I say - rich feeling. Hell, it's even a bit syrupy. But with it's vibrant carbonation, it still goes down relatively easily.

O: Hey, DuClaw 6 packs are getting better! Okay, maybe not. But still, this - while hardly fantastic - puts a nice twist on the blonde ale. I'm not going to seek it out, but I would drink it again.
