Another Pennsylvania beer from my late Oct. trip that I can't buy in my home state.

a: Clear copper with a finger thick offwhite head which receded to thin surface foam and spotty lacing.

s: Caramel.

t: Caramel malt with strong presence under a moderate hop bite. Slightly bitter finish at first, later more sweet-dominated.

m; Light to moderate. Hard to tell if the accompanying tingle is from carbonation or hops, since it has a rather flat appearance.

o: A flavorful American-style brown (listed as an English brown but tastes too hoppy, although also listed as only 22 IBUs, seems like at least double that - go figger) with both a high degree of caramel/toffee malt sweetness and balancing hop bitterness. Pleasing.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Medium clear brown with a finger of white head, little lacing.
S - Really weird bready malt, toasted grains, nuttiness, almonds, toffee, caramel, lots of sweetness.
T - The toffee definitely comes through, but its a very sweet form. If "chintzy" were a flavor, thi would kinda be it, the malt and nuttiness of whats supposed to be a brown ale kinda fall short, but that being said, its actually a decent novelty flavor.
M - Thin, kind watery.
O - Not gonna get this again, but it was decent. I would really like to see the toffee in a bigger form along with the nuttiness of a good brown, amp up the alcohol too.
