Poured out an orangey amber with about a finger of creamy white head. Minimal retention but a decent collar leaves some nice lacing. The aroma is fairly ordinary, with some light citrus notes and a hint of sweetness. The taste is pretty much the same, but just a little less impressive. There is some flavor, but its bordering on bland. It has nice weight to the body with a nice crisp finish. If it were this or macro, I'd go this, but it wouldn't be my first choice of craft.

Copper body faint head barely white colored head. Even lacing, Aroma has pine and citrus notes big tropical fruit as it warms up a bit. Flavor has citrus zest and all kind of hop flavors mainly bitterness and a hint of malts. Mouthfeel is medium bodied dry all day kind of hop bitterness. Overall there's much better IPA out there folks.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Cloudy orange-yellow with half a finger of dense foamy off white head. No lacing.
S - Dark grains, pine, grapefruit, not a whole lot good goin on.
T - Very acrid, and bitter, pine, astringent, weird.
M - Soapy.
O - How do you use good hops like Motueka and not have a good flavor? This is really lame.

P- Wegman's in Mechanicsburg, PA

A- copper tone color with minimal head and less than average lacing. Head is quickly gone. Somewhat opaque as well.

S- citrus hops with faint hints of caramel malts. pretty simple yet smells great!

F- the flavor is a cross between citrus and caramel malt hop. It is like eating a grapefruit with the caramel from twix. odd yet good.

M- hoppy and dry. light bodied with the hops lingering all the way down.

O- Not a bad brew and better than average.

Appearance is a cloudy light copper with one finger of head that dissipated rather quickly. The nose was rather hoppy. The flavor profile lacked the hoppiness that the nose might presage but the citrus flavors and malt profile makes for a nicely balanced offering.

DuClaw beers have recently caught on here in Eastern PA. Not sure why since most are rather mediocre – much like this one.

Sediment floaties in a generic light amber color. Swatchy lace. Not much retained head.

Lightly hoppy. Some stone fruit and citrus. A touch of floral in the aroma. Rather muted.

Citrus and some nectarine, a little dankness and green leafiness. Not the fresh kind of leafiness. A humid kind of flavor with a tail of alcohol heat in the finish. The malts are biscuity, but a little caramelly. Not appropos.

Spicy feel with a light-medium body. I actually like the intensity. Nice. 4

Not a go-to IPA, by any means. Falls short, all over the place.

Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into a snifter. The bottle opens with a small fizz and I pour it into the glass. There are strong hop notes right from the pour with pine sap and some grapefruit rind.
The color is a rich chestnut color with some small particles suspended in the beer there are streams of bubbles rising to the surface throughout the sampling. The head is 1 cm and eggshell white after the pour and fades to a sturdy edge layer soon after the pour. After each sip there is tight lattice on the glass.
First sip reveals an average body and very fine carbonation. Mostly light and easy to drink texture.
Flavor is some toffee and a bit of caramel, but also gives good hearty hop presence with some citrus and a bit of an earthy presence. I also get a little bit of peppery booze, but no accompanying warmth.
OVerall this beer is pretty easy to drink, complex and interesting and not flawed anywhere.
I am enjoying this and would call it more of a double IPA or maybe barleywine, but it is what it is, a solid beer worth drinking.
