22oz bomber Poured into DuClaw pint glass. No bottled date but I'm fairly sure this was brewed late 2012.

Appearance: Pours near black with a very thin tan head that fades to nothing all too quickly. No lacing.

Smell: Roasted espresso beans. Sweet milk chocolate.

Taste: Sweet chocolate malts lead the way. Espresso and roast coffee are there but to a lesser extent. Finish is a a nice roasty & lactic sugar sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Exceptionally smooth and drinkable. Good balance of roasty and sweet. Medium bodied. Carbonation is a little flat.

Overall; I enjoyed it but I guess was expecting a little more out of it. Still It's a great example of a milk stout.

S: Strong espresso notes, classic lactose aromas, some roastiness, but restrained

L: Dark black, light tan head that dissipates.

T: Sharp espresso notes with some cream like flavors. Slight roastiness, but fairly restrained. Low bitterness, no hop flavor. Fairly clean and smooth besides the sharp espresso. Finishes slightly roasty and semi-dry.

M: Creamy, medium bodied. Medium low carbonation.

Ok. Flavors work pretty well together, just nothing really popped.

Had on tap at DuClaw....

A- Pours a deep brown almost black color. One finger tan head shows good retention. Lace came in the forms of streaks with hints of spots as well.

S- My only big complaint with the aroma is it is a little muted. Roasted malts in the front with hints of sweet vanilla-ish undertones. The malts come in a second wave with a toasted caramel tone. No real hops come out or anything else really. Maybe some darker fruit but that is about it.

T- Roasted malts with hints of coffee in the front. There are light lingering undertones of vanilla and a almost creamy flavor. Caramel base malts show up in the middle of the beer for a second. Light darker fruits and dark baker's chocolate in the ending of the beer with light hints of alcohol. Even the alcohol seems a little muted in this beer.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the beer. Sweet malts and light roast are left on the palate. Aftertaste is mostly sweet malts and light alcohol tones. Flavors were blended well although a little sweet. No real off flavors at all but there is a little watery feel to this one. Light alcohol drying on the palate.

D- This beer was very drinkable. The lower ABV made it a little easy to drink pint after pint of this. Although a little watery at times it is still a good drinker.

Poured from tap into pint at duclaw in Bowie. Pours a light black see through brown. No head. Not much of a stout appearance. Nice milk coffee roasted malt aromas. Taste is cappuccino like. Lots of sweet milky coffee and roasted malt. Its not over sweet at all but really balanced. Nice milk stout.

I had this on-tap at the brewpub.

Appearance: Pours almost black with a very tiny amount of light coming through at the edges of the glass. There is one finger of creamy tan head and some lacing remains.

Smell: Some sweet roast with notes of caramel, vanilla, and roasty coffee. The only complaint here is that the smell is a little faint.

Taste: Roasty coffee with notes of caramel and vanilla. There is some dark chocolate and roast, especially at the finish. The sweetness is nice, but not overpowering.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and creamy body and carbonation. Tiny bubbles and quite dry at the finish.

Drinkability: I think this beer is really good. There is a perfect amount of sweetness, and it is very well balanced.

Poured from a bottle into a perfect pint

A- pours jet black with a half finger ran head that quickly fades. Man, that head is extremely disappointing...

S- holy crap, tons of coffee comes through on this. Insane. Also getting hints of chocolate, but the coffee is the dominant flavor, and it's wild

T- lots of coffee....hints of vanilla come through as well from the lactose...pretty solid, a very different take on a milk stout, but one that I appreciate

M- texture is silky smooth, as you'd expect from the style

O- this adds another layer of flavor to the typical milk stout, and it works out extremely well for the beer. Would love to see this one get inserted into DuClaw's year-round profile

had on tap at Bell Air location.
very dark mahogany color no lacing, coffee and roasted nose. Flavor of grainy coffee and not burnt roasted notes. Overall a simple beer made well. not there most interesting beer but definitely worth trying. would probably go well with some food.

Enjoyed this bomber bottle out of a Belgian tulip glass.

A: Pours a dark black hue with a thick, 3-finger, tan head that slowly dissipates down the side of the glass ending in a wispy lace.

S: Coffee and chocolate aroma with roasted malt background.

T: Espresso/cappuccino with a solid roasted malt backbone. There are some definite chocolate and caramel overtones.

M: Medium body and medium carbonation.

O: This was a very good sweet stout. Well balanced and easy to drink.

On tap at Max's today. The latest concoction from DuClaw.

The beer pours a blackish brown color with good head retention and considerable lacing all around. The nose is pretty attractive, though I guess I don't understand the macchiato part of the name/style. Instead, I get light coffee grounds, licorise, vanilla and burnt toast. The flavor profile replicates the nose, though there is also a light creaminess that is kind of nice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and the beer has a fairly long, smooth, creamy finish. Drinkability is good, with the alcohol nicely integrated into the flavor profile. It's barely noticeable in this beer, and the beer is not at all heavy or tiring.

While nothing extraordinairy, I thought this nevertheless a very solid beer.

Pours a solid dark brown with the faintest of ruby highlights when held to light and a smallish khaki head that slowly dissipates to a cap on top. Smells of sweet and milk sugar with a nice chocolate and roast intermingling with just a hint of caramel. The flavor is sweet and creamy with lactose and sugars up front. Roasted coffee milk with a hint of vanilla and chocolate round out the flavor quite nicely. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet creamy silky smooth mouthfeel. This is a very nice stout I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks to Alex M for hooking me up.

22oz bottle poured into imperial pint glass. Thanks StormKing47!

A: Pours clear near black with a minimal thin light brown head that faded into a thin collar.
S: Espresso and roast all the way with a hint of sweet lactose sugar. Light scent. Roast dominant.
T: Creamy and integrated flavors of rich espresso, roasted dark malts, and lightly bitter chocolate. The finish is mildly sweet with lactose sugar and creamy chocolate syrup. Aftertaste is full of roast. Fairly simple but extremely delicious smooth and balanced. Slight caramel.
M: Medium body, light, slick, smooth mouthfeel, soft low carbonation.
O: A delicious milk stout with a creamy and balanced flavor. Smooth and delicious. Thanks again Josh.
