Poured a bright amber with two-finger head. Subtle smell of spicy hops and malt.

Smooth, clean malt flavor profile. Prickly carbonation that lifts the toasty and tasty malt flavors. Bready. This is decidedly good fresh and really hits the mark. Extremely easy to drink and the mouthfeel is perfect for style and session.

Very nice altbier interpretation. Glorious with pretzels and mustard.

From a nice trade with Herr Burgess, I get the opportunity to sample an out-of-towner.

22 ouncer Bottled on 12/30/11.

A -- Clear, orange-copper with a dense, long-lasting, off white head.

S -- Sweet, rich, bready malt with a mild nuttiness back.

T -- This is an interesting beer because it starts with a mellow spicy bitterness then folds into sweet, bready to nutty malts and then comes around again to the bitterness in the finish. In-between the breadiness and the bitter finish is a mild caramel, even vague fruitiness that is very appetizing.

M -- Mouthfeel is smooth to crisp with a medium body.

O -- Overall, this is a terrific drinking beer. The balance between maltiness and bitterness is quite good without a clash of flavors as can often happen in an American Brown Ale, and the cleanliness of lagering a top-fermented beer smooths out the character nicely. A great rendition of the style.

Bottled: 11.15.11

Into a goblet it pours a dark tawny copper, fading into yellow orange in the lower meniscus of the glass. Ever present cap of sturdy foam that has a creamy texture to it's surface. Rings of lace are left behind, and the head never breaks. Brilliantly clear with saturated color.

Dry toasty malt aroma with some grassy noble hops at first that give it a slightly skunky impression.

Toasty and mellow, slight bitterness. Smooth feel, dry finish with residual malty flavor. Toasted biscuit, herbal tea. Light bodied, light carbonation, full flavored. Overall a nice traditional Alt, very fresh and tasty. Thanks for the OMB beer Wil!

650ml bottle. Bottled 11.28.11.

It pours a nice copper color with an off-white head.

Smell is good, some nice roastiness and caramel.

The taste is sweeter than anticipated but delicious. Most american amber ales just fail. But this one is a king among them. I am not an aficionado on altbiers but this one seems a bit sweeter adn spicier, but it is a great beer.

Another good one form this brewer.
