Poured on tap, this beer is a gorgeous clear copper color and sports a sudsy white head that lingers and forms a ring on the glass. Beautiful Marzen.

It’s served pretty cold on tap, but if you’re patient and let it warm a bit, you’re rewarded with a nose that features biscuit notes up front, with caramel, wheat bread, and a bit of floral hops follow. Wow.

The taste is a delicious combination of the biscuit and caramel bouncing off the wheat bread and bit of hops for a full flavored beer that is perfectly balanced, and accentuated by a very clean, crisp mouthfeel.

This is magnificent, IMHO.

Picked up a four pack from the Appalachian Vintner in Asheville 8-15-29 for $13.99. Canned on 7-24-23; consumed can #1 for review 8-27-23.

Beer poured a lovely shade of copper that had a very nice head with some nice hang time.

Nose is biscuits that are toasted with a nice honey quality.

Taste is near perfect as the toasted malt base give me notes of honey and caramel. Hopping lends a perfect balance but is clearly not overtly in the post sip aspirations as the wonderful, toasted honey caramel flavor dominates in the end.

Mouthfeel is very soft and each sip smooth which is a quality i have not come across much.

Overall a world class Marzen!

I am trying a bottle of this beer whilst at my bestie's house in Charlotte, NC. It poured a clear amber with no head and no lace. The scent had sweet malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and subtle finishing hop flare. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Purchased as a six-pack of bottles from Ingles for $12.49. Poured into a proper mug.

L - Copper and clear, with an outstanding four-finger sudsy cream head. Head retains remarkably well throughout the session. Perfect lacing.
S - Biscuit. Toffee. A bit nutty. Herbal.
T - Freshly-baked bread, biscuit, and herbal notes. Super bready base. Toffee-walnut finish. Well-balanced.
F - Medium-bodied, with light carbonation. Smooth. Extremely drinkable.
O - A fantastic Märzen. Drinkable, flavorful, and not necessarily complex. Breadier than you'd first expect. Definitely recommend. I'll be getting more of this one...

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass. 1" off white head drops quickly, mild lacing. Clear amber color. Toasted malt aroma and sweet caramel, hint of grassy and herbal hops. Mouthfeel is light with an easy dry finish. Flavor a near perfect blend of biscuit, toasted malt, and hops. Overall: outstanding. Easy to see why this brew is so lauded.

16oz canned on 09/01/2021. Sample from the brewery.

I had originally ticked this beer back in 2013. Time for a proper review.

Clear, bright copper with amber-orange hues and thick foamy head. Nose is toasty, a bit biscuity, and herbal. First sip is very smooth, a bit creamy, with a slight carbonation bite. Layers of rich, semi-sweet, malty goodness follow. We're talking toasty, honey, caramelly, and grainy notes. It's a bit nutty too with an astringency that carries into the finish. Mild bitterness with more herbal notes and a tea-like edge. Hint of browned apple. Clean, bone-dry finish that creates an urge to drink more.

At the time of this review, Mecktoberfest is the #2 ranked Märzen. It's definitely one of the finest examples of the Märzen style that you're going to find from an American brewer.

Marzens are my favorite style of brew and I sample many of the local craft versions in my area. A friend brought this back to me from his trip to Charlotte. This beer is definitely worth it's high ranking. It has the bready, malty taste you're looking for in this style. A hard pour produced a two inch white head that hung around for awhile. The color is copper bronze. Beautiful beer to look at. The drinkability is what sets this beer apart from other Octoberfest style offerings. Goes down very smooth with very little alcohol taste lingering. The only problem is that my friend only gave me a sixer.

Amber color with a lot of rising bubbles and a thin white head. Light bodied but sharply carbonated. Biscuit malt flavor, noticeable fruity ester as well. Finish is quite dry.
