The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB) was founded so that people in the Charlotte region could finally enjoy world class beer fresh from the lager tanks. The way beer was meant to be enjoyed. We use only the highest quality ingredients and employ traditional, intensive brewing methods to transform these ingredients into beer that's full flavored yet light and very refreshing. In short, beer that will satisfy all of your senses. Though more costly to produce, we think you'll agree that the result is worth it. And because the brewery is located in south Charlotte we are able to deliver ultra-fresh draft beer weekly to your favorite local establishment.

Nice place with an authentic German feel. They have now started serving a limited menu; mainly bratwurst, pretzels and the like.

The service is good, the waitresses are quite attentive on making sure you don't run out of beer.

They have tours on Saturdays, which are interesting and informative. Kind of a small brewery right now, but well laid out and kept in order.

Unfortunately, they only have two year round beers on tap, a Bavarian Lager and an Altbeer. And only one seasonal at a time. They haven't done any one offs or specialty beers to help fill out the tap list. On the upside the beers that they do have are terrific.

It really is a nice place that is comfortable to hang out with some friends and have a few beers. The only complaint that I would have is the fact that there are only three beers on thier tap list at any given time, it would be nice to see at least four or five.

When you walk into OMB, you're greeted with a huge German-style fest hall with a few long communal fest tables and small standing room barrel-style table tops scattered throughout. The bar is long and luxurious with multiple towers set up for serving. While OMB lacks and a selection of brewery only choices (their entire lineup is kegged and bottled for sale), they swap quantity for quality without fail. Everything on tap is fresh and delicious. From the lightest Pilsner to theif Baltic porter, every beer I've had from OMB is incredible. The brewery tour was awesome as well. About 45 minutes long, we moved around in a group of 4 ( the weather was awesome outside so we probably lucked out on the intimate tour) and learned about the process from A-Z. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Such an awesome experience.

I expected to find more of a selection or beers that were sold only in the brewery only to find the beers in the brewery can easily be found elsewhere around town and in the grocery stores. Food was rather bland.

I frequented the old location and was unsure how they could improve the experience. However, the new location offers an expanded experience- whether that be the bar (for game days), biergarten (during warm weather) or for a quick bite and fresh beer. This place is lost on some craft beer drinkers since they follow the bavarian beer laws, but to me the Mecktoberfest and Copper are two of the highest quality and most drinkable beers out of Charlotte. Wish I could go more often!

This place is literally on the other side of the tracks.

For what it's worth the interior is reminiscent of a German hunting lodge/beer hall. I believe the owner spent quite a bit of time in Germany and modeled the taproom on beer halls he visited. Massive dark wood wall panels (oak or walnut) rise up 10 + feet and have an aged look. Banquet hall chandeliers and flags of the German provinces add to the aura. You can definitely picture some antlers, a fireplace, or bear rugs here.
I did not try the food but everyone else seemed to, which might suggest that it is good. They have tours of the actual brewery which can be seen through the glass behind the bar. Very casual, you can hop on and jump out as needed to get a refill.
The beers only elevate the experience, and make this an outstanding establishment . Pils, dunkel, and christmas seasonals were amazing. Not too impressed with the weiss and underwhelming style to begin, this and underwhelming flavor. I didn't have much interactions with the service staff, but they flaunted their southern hospitality well.

Stop # 447 on my world brewery tour.

Very well done German-style establishment. Classy with tons of cash behind it. Lots of beer hall tables, no stools at the bar to watch the world series on on the three big screens.

Did all four beers in a flight and went back for the Alt (copper) and Pilsner. Very well done and as enjoyable as a place with no IPA's can be.

Great new place they have here (they recently moved into a larger location and are still renovating some areas). Very spacious. Great place to have a large gathering (you can reserve large rooms for private parties) and they have a huge outdoor space for eating and playing games as well as a large bar and dining hall. German roots, authentic, 4 beer types on tap and 4 wines on hand at a time. Limited food options. They have stuck to their German roots and have a wonderful product.
