Picked this up at a great little beer store in Arlon, Belgium, Miorge Mihoublon. Beautiful mahogany pour with a huge 2+ finger caramel-colored head with crazy retention and lacing. Great unique, earthy, herbal nose with hints of caramel, pine, fresh hops, toffee, brown sugar, soy sauce, and some subtle cocoa. The taste is just as unique as the nose and incredibly rich and flavorful. Strong malty backbone dominates, but some really nice resiny pine notes add great balance. Also getting hints of tobacco, soy sauce, toffee, caramel, brown sugar, and cocoa. Mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, thick and chewy with a great bitter tang on the finish. The balance is incredible! Overall, this for me is a malty version of one of my favorite IPA's, Toccalmatto Surfing Hop. They're both incredibly flavorful and totally unique. Bruno Carilli is doing some amazing things at Toccalmatto!

750 ml bottle at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, served in a tulip glass.
A- Pours a murky brownish color with an off-white head, nice retention and great lacing.
S- Very fruity, lots of raisins and other dark fruit, caramel, roasted grain and vanilla.
T- Similar to the aroma, focuses on dark fruit and raisin, as well as some caramel and vanilla.
M- Medium-bodied, smooth feel.
O- Not as huge or complex as some old ales, but it's quite tasty and is very drinkable (not quite sure if it's worth the steep price tag though).

750ml bottle. Beer poured a dark copper brownish color with a light brown medium sized head, nice lacing. The aroma had a present roasted malt nose with some chocolate and vanilla notes as well. Touch of citrus hop aroma. The taste gives you a nice roasted malt character up front and is balanced well against a slight hop bitterness, pleasant. There are also notes of vanilla. After giving the beer additional time to warm up, the taste has more depth with some dark fruit notes, raisiny. Overall the beer has a medium body, well balanced and easy to drink.
