A: Pours a dark reddish brown, with a small amount of light tan head. A ring around the glass retains along with some spotty surface film, which is enough to leave a few streaks of lacing here and there.

S: Rich nutty malty toffee. Mid-range rounded sweetness, with perhaps some contribution from the barrel.

T: Light malty note, with a touch of the toffee from the aroma. It's lighter in both body and flavor than the smell suggests, but still has good complexity. Finish is very nice, just the right length and slightly dry.

M: Medium to almost light bodied, and light carbonation. I may be calling it lighter than it is just because it's so much lighter than I would have expected; it actually works reasonably well with the beer though, so that's also not a knock against it.

Overall, nice, though probably not incredible. The light body doesn't show off the booze, though you can catch a bit of it in the aroma. It's nice and drinkable, with lots to discover if you're paying attention.
