Appearance-Red to copper with an off white to white foam out of the bottle

Smell-Wheaty yeast and red fruit.

Taste-Subtle on the whiskey from the barrel aging, stronger with the yellow yeasty flavors and strawberries and raspberries on the front.

Mouthfeel-Good finish, not overly heavy.

Overall-Not bad. Nothing terribly special. Mouthfeel is my favorite part. I would've like more of the barrel notes to come through.

Has a bourbon over malt nose.
Pours hazy brown under a 1” finely bubbled off-white very finely bubbled foam cap.
Malt and bourbon dominate the palate with some caramel and vanilla notes that linger long into the finish.
Medium body and carbonation.

appearance: Hazy dark honey colored. Nice swath of off white head. Lacing is thick but doesn't stick around long.
smell: Nice enough malty aroma. Not getting much from the barrel treatment except a nice vanilla.
taste: much like the nose though not getting that vanilla. Just not getting any barrel characteristics.
overall: According to AV, they aged for 6 months in 3rd use Wild Turkey barrels. They tout this as, "a truly sessionable barrel-aged beer with finesse." True enough. Maybe a little too much finesse for me. I appreciate the subtlety but just not getting those flavors typical of a bourbon barrel treatment even in a muted way. Nice beer though.

Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 06.12.14.

A: 2 1/2 finger head that retains well. Cloudy red/amber body.

S: Vanilla, bourbon, caramel, toffee.

T: Follows the nose.

M: Creamy. It is less watery than the regular Boont.

O: The vanilla and caramel were strong, but I didn't get any flower like what is in the regular Boont. Aging in the barrels must have muted the hops. This is a good BB amber, but I would choose a BB stout over it. There is also not much of a flavor difference over the regular Boont, aside from vanilla added by the barrels.

Rating: B, 85/100.
