Appearance-Red to copper with an off white to white foam out of the bottle

Smell-Wheaty yeast and red fruit.

Taste-Subtle on the whiskey from the barrel aging, stronger with the yellow yeasty flavors and strawberries and raspberries on the front.

Mouthfeel-Good finish, not overly heavy.

Overall-Not bad. Nothing terribly special. Mouthfeel is my favorite part. I would've like more of the barrel notes to come through. (423 characters)

Has a bourbon over malt nose.
Pours hazy brown under a 1” finely bubbled off-white very finely bubbled foam cap.
Malt and bourbon dominate the palate with some caramel and vanilla notes that linger long into the finish.
Medium body and carbonation. (254 characters)

Pours a chill-hazed orange/copper with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Nice lacing & head retention

S: Faint leafy hops, caramel & bourbon notes

T: Leafy hops, a little bit of caramel & figs, faint dryness up front. More leafy hops, figs & a whisper of Bourbon as this warms. Finishes dry, with leafy hops & a little booze bite ( not really helping though )

MF: Lively carbonation, light/medium bodied, warming

Not a horrible beer, but not one I would buy again or recommend. Everything isn't better with barrel aging. Getting more misses than hits from these new beers. Pull it together A Valley! A bit better warm, still not impressed (650 characters)

From the 650 ml. bottle. Sampled on July 3, 2015.

Reddish brown pour with a long lasting cream colored head.

Aroma is rather weak with some Bourbon notes for sure but not a lot else. Sweetness.

Thin body though.

The taste has a slight malt presence with the Bourbon barrel aging coming forth but nothing that makes me think of this as a brown ale otherwise. (364 characters)

appearance: Hazy dark honey colored. Nice swath of off white head. Lacing is thick but doesn't stick around long.
smell: Nice enough malty aroma. Not getting much from the barrel treatment except a nice vanilla.
taste: much like the nose though not getting that vanilla. Just not getting any barrel characteristics.
overall: According to AV, they aged for 6 months in 3rd use Wild Turkey barrels. They tout this as, "a truly sessionable barrel-aged beer with finesse." True enough. Maybe a little too much finesse for me. I appreciate the subtlety but just not getting those flavors typical of a bourbon barrel treatment even in a muted way. Nice beer though. (660 characters)

Pretty epic infection here. Acetic sourness and diacetyl. Stunningly awful. (75 characters)
