10 ounce goblet from the Yard House on Newport Blvd.
Pour was a medium bnrown with a very nice silky head
Smell was sweet and full of fruit accents
Taste was so smooth and refreshing, supposed to be a sipper, but very drinkable
Definitely worth the $3.25 I paid for this during happy hour

Poured a dull sort of copper with a well sustained white head,real lively carbonation it looks somewhat spritzy,green apple aromas mixed with some phenolic spice and smoke I pick up a hint of bubble gum like that found in some Bavarian hefe weizen's as well in there.Quite honestly there is not alot of character to this beer in the flavor department but there are some pleasant components some pear and hints of green apple up front with spicey,yeasty lingering finish.Its missing something its close to being really good but needs somedepth and a little more flavor punch but it goes down easy for being so high in alc.I wont seek out again but its pretty enjoyable,a simple pleasure.

Appearance This one is a glowing orange in color with a bit of a brownish tint and no head.
Smell This is more like Triple Sec than a Tripel. There are some light, European-type of hops but it's mostly just liquid sugar with lots of booze. I mean, the nose is just dripping with sugary sweetness. It tastes like alcohol liquid table sugar.
Taste There is a huge, sharp, liqueur-type of flavor here that reminds me, again, of Triple Sec. The alcohol and orange syrup mixture is just loaded with table sugar sweetness.
Mouthfeel This one is a bit bigger than medium-bodied with a stingy alcohol presence and a super-sticky sugariness.
Drinkability This Anderson Valley offering is waaaay off of the true Abbey Tripel style but I kind of enjoyed it.

A: A light molasses color with a virtually non-
existant head, thus no lacing (pet peeve). I
am a sucker for the proper amount of carbon-
ation, though my proper amount is sometimes
consider a bit on the heavy side.
S: The aroma is sweet like bubble gum and a
hint of grape
T: The taste is sweet as the aroma suggests.
Though I've found this style to have an
inherent sweetness, this amount of sweet is
borderline too much for me.
M: There is a good mouthfeel, not as syrupy as
I anticipated but not watery either, a nice
middle ground is achieved in this brew.
D: This is a pretty drinkable beer partiuclarly
with a meal/dessert. I might not consider it
as drinkable if its sweetness was left to
stand without the accompaniment of food.

Poured from a 750 mL bottle into a chalice style glass.
A: Pours a darker golden color, much like that of clover honey. A careful pour produces a clear glass of brew with very thin layer of fine white bubbles with a nice fluffy white ring. Lacing was negligible.
S: Pale malts, spices, hints of dark fruit, and just a bit of a fresh bread aroma.
T&M: Malty, more so than you might expect, but not too much. The flavors mingle for a nice complexity involving light malts, some interesting spices, and something that sort of comes across as light woody flavor. Although relatively modest of flavor, the mouthfeel is rather fulfilling and full without being heavy - something that is always nice when properly achieved. Carbonation assists in bringing some levity to the brew but the ABV starts to kick in somewhere around half a glass. The finish is mostly clean with some hints of malt on the linger and just the slightest touch of alcohol warming.
D: Enjoyable, at least. The more I had the more I appreciated the way the flavors worked together. The malts were just a touch sweet for my liking but this seems to be more common in the American rendition of the Belgian triples. Overall, very good and recommended.

I was not impressed by this one at all. And I was very supprised since I have liked everything that I have had from these guys so far. The apperance was a darkish gold that had no head at all to speak of. Even upon swirling nothing could be lifted from this one. The smell was very sweet and had lots of bananna scents in the mix. But the flavor was just a total letdown with way too much sweetness and an unrefined quality to the alchohol that is not too far removed from malt liquor. Good brewery, bad beer.

This beer is a revelation to me, most of all, because I'm not a big fan of Anderson Valley Brewing Company in general.
Overall this beer is reminiscent of a barley wine with a a nice malty sweetness. It has a light caramel color and nose. Despite its relatively high alcoholic content, the beer is not hot at all. It tastes like its been aged in whiskey barrels.
This is a goto beer for me because I can get it at BevMo and the local corner store.

Served from a 22 ounce bottle bought just a few weeks ago.
A --- very soft and weak straw yellow
S --- my favorite part of the beer. I pick up apple, banana, cloves, yeast, and earthiness
T --- mild, sourness and watery
M --- low carbonation and little body
O --- not my favorite style of beer and this isn't going to change my mind.

This is missing something. Clear amber pour. No matter how hard I tried, I could not coax a head out of this beer. Aroma is spicy and malty, but weak. Taste was musty yeast, spice, and lots of alcohol. Thick mouthfeel with a sticky finish. Good, but there are much better tripels out there.

Brother David's Triple begins with an aroma that is half Belgian and half baking bread: ripe bananas and cloves mixed with deliciously yeasty dough that is in the oven and just beginning to darken at the edges. Hints of lychee nut, pineapple, and pear also appear on the nose, as well as the briefest mention of milk chocolate.
On the tongue, the beer begins instantly sweet--confectioner's sugar and caramelized brown sugar--before the Belgian bananas and cloves kick in and take over the tastebuds. Bright citrus flavors--apricot and grapefruit--as well as pear and apple also come into play. There is a strong alcohol tinge to the brew--created by the 10% ABV--that is vodka-like in quality, and does slightly mar the flavors. The aftertaste is mainly a continuation of the above, which becomes more bitter as the sugars die off, revealing a hop kick. Mouthfeel is medium, and carbonation is medium-high and quite fizzy.
Overall, this is good fare, though nothing to necessarily crow about, largely because the vodka-like kick lessens the latter half of the mouthful. Still, for a 10% beer, it's certainly palatable, and the malt flavors are pronounced and well-balanced.

Tap, Toronado, San Fransisco. Belgian style tripel, with the aromatics of a lot of American beers, lemony, with a yeasty Belgian character, pretty tasty stuff actually. Definitely a moe American influence triple, but it works quite nicely, not mindblowing, but nice.

A- This beer has a warm golden orange crystal clear body with a bubbly white head that last and last. There is a strong carbonation of big bubbles.
S- The light smell of bananas with a sweet malt and caramel note to follow is almost cloying in sweetness. It is the banana smell that I found more out of place.
T- The taste of sweet malt with a light fusel alcohol taste and a light perfume note. There is a light taste banana that turns into bubblegum. There is a nice slight bitterness in the finish that knocks out a bit of the malt sweetness.
M- This beer has a nice light mouthfeel with a sweetness in the texture but the finish dries out the mouthfeel nicely.
D- This beer is sweet and malty which is nice but the bubblegum and banana flavors are a bit out of place.

Sparkling clear brew the color of a blood orange's skin. The head is impressive at first but fades super fast to nothing but a skim of disappointment. Not a stellar start if you ask me.
The nose takes a turn in the right direction. Wafting bready yeast distinct to the Belgian strains punch you right in the snout. Followed closely by crisp apple-like fruits and a handful of toasted grains. A much needed improvement from the looks.
The taste is also in a good spot featuring all the above mentioned but with a candied flavor. Caramelized grains, tart apples and a dose of that yeast make up for one tasty beverage.
The mouthfeel is clean and crisp with a sharp carbonation and light body. An enjoyable beer but not a wow beer. I find myself sipping of it, taking my time and happy but find it equally enjoyable and forgettable at the same time.

This poured to a dark gold but relatively clear color. There's plenty of head on it, although the lacing is pretty plain.
The smell and taste, quite honestly, aren't much to speak of. There's nothing bad or offensive about them, they're just very plain and a little flat. Plenty of malt and some alcohol come through very clear. Some additional character would do wonders for this beer. This seems like a pretty average strong ale with the yeast swapped out for some of the belgian stuff. It's a little too sharp in the mouth; though I'm not having any problems downing this bottle.
