The aroma itself isn't all that remarkable. Smells like a basic lager that's somewhat sweet and creamy. That alone isn't telling me much about it. However, that isn't the most important aspect so let's get to that.
The taste...well it's probably the sweetest, most "creamy" cream ale I've had to date...not that I've had many. This beer has a good component of vanilla in it...and actually tastes a bit like a creamscicle. It's creamy, vanilla and a little fruity all in one....but not so sweet as to become distracting. This likely won't be everybody's cup of tea, but on the other hand the style isn't exactly one of the most sought after either.
I respect them quite a bit for using a beer like this for their summer beer. So many breweries seem to do slightly different takes on the same style for their summer beers. This is pretty different and it's actually pretty tasty at that. I'll even imagine that some people who don't typically drink beer could put this one down.
