Pours a clear gold, with a beautiful light, fluffy head. Ample carbonation is provided and this brew has a wonderful cling down the side of the glass.

The initial smell is of a fruits, malt, and bread. This is followed by a nice note of grassy hops. The flavor is fairly represented by the smell, tasting of malt and honey with a subtle grapefruit bite. The hops bitterness is present and it finishes in a clean fashion. The mouthfeel is of a smooth richness, not too heavy, not too light.

Would be a wonderful compliment for marinated chicken.

Another good offering from the folks at Anderson Valley.

Pours a white fizzy fluffy 1 finger head that fades semi slowly, hazy honey orange color.

Nose brings nice grassy noble hops, with a little spicy American touch to them, a bit floral, very touch fruity notes, faint malt base.

Taste starts with juicy malts out front, not a lot just enough for a nice base, followed quickly by grassy spicy hops, a bit earthy and leafy and even floral, again a mix of noble and American it seems, with a touch of fruity notes and very light citrus rind. Finish dries off as the juicy malt fades, gets pretty bitter but not a ton, with more lingering grassy leafy hops, that bring a bit more citrus peel notes and floral characters.

Mouth is med bod, nice carb.

Overall pretty nice, about what a typical APA should be, nice base malt balanced with good fresh hops, nice noble American blend, good bitter lingering finish, sessionable and tasty. Very enjoyable.

Pours a hazy golden amber with two finger head and nice lacing on the glass. Smells bready. Not much hop/citrus coming out in the nose. Tastes well balanced. Not too hoppy, and I love the my hoppy APA's. This would be a great session beer. Mouthfeel is pleasant and rich with just enough carbonation. Overall, would make a great session APA and would be a great beer to turn others onto pale ales.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy straw colored body.
The aroma is mild pine and honey.
The taste is strong grapefruit bitterness with a short finish. It's straight to the point.
The texture is crisp with soft edges and moderate carbonation.
It has a bold bitterness for a pale ale... but it's still good.

so where does this fall in the pale ale spectrum...

its on the opposite end of the malty/sweet/honey taste of a sierra nevada pale ale

its much more on the hoppy/bitter end similar to a dales pale ale

but its got a bit more citrus than dales, closer to a citra pale ale

for the hop heads out there -think more cascade and less nugget

also like dales pale ale, this beer has a really thick head for a pale ale and gives that creamy mouthful

so when should you drink this beer: anytime really, at 5% abv and with a clean but not overpowering citrus/hop feel, this beer would really go nice at that summer time party or a great beach day, sure your best friend might have worked hand grind, stuff, and grill those sausages, but show up with a 6 pack of this and you win best contribution of the night
