A hazy, golden red IPA with an off-white, moderate, rocky head. The smell is "tilt your head back hoppy" (to quote myself). The taste is a creamy malt to start, then grapefruit, with a very bitter finish. The body was slightly firm in my mouth. Overall, a very strong and bitter IPA. A bit too hop intense for me though, but I'm working up to it.
Per the label: "Hop Ottin' " is Boontling (the local Anderson Valley dialect, developed in the late 1800's) for "hard working hops". "Hop Ottin' bites like a cankicky bluetail"...translation..."Hop Ottin' bites like a rattlesnake looking for a fight."
