Anderson Valley Hop Ottin' IPA is sweet, slippery, and not bitter.
It poured a very nice cloudy dark amber with a short one-finger head. Very little clung to the glass. The smell and taste were very sweet caramel, with no citrus or earthy flavors of which to speak. The feel was slippery smooth and fleeting. There was no bitterness whatsoever.
Hop Ottin' is tasty and was very enjoyable pool-side on a 90 degree day; however, it did not leave a lasting impression and had none of the bitterness expected from an IPA. It was a good Pale Ale but a pale IPA.
