This was another world-class, outstanding brew from Anderson Valley... their Oatmeal Stout and Winter Solstice were equally great, and their Hop Ottin' IPA was a truly remarkable depiction of a great American style... Beautiful gold, amber, copper-colored appearance with an huge frothy and foamy head that exhibited impressive staying power... nice aroma combining strong elements of fresh hops, lemons, citrus, and fresh florals... Excellent, crisp, clear taste that really highlighted the hops with a teriffic grapefruit, pear, and fruit essence... awesome, off-the-board taste, true-to-the-style, and dominated by freshness and pure, caramel and vanilla aftertones... excellent creamy and rich mouthfeel with an equally great level of drinkability... goes down very smooth and clean without the slightest indication of a 7% ABV... excellent stuff... another winner from Anderson Valley... Definitely recommended...

Poured from a 12 oz can (gasp) into a tulip.
A - Deep amber with about a finger of creamy light tan head. Sporadic lacing down the glass.
S - Floral and citrusy hops. I thought it would be a little more in your face (or nose), though.
T - Bitter earthy hops, but well balanced and a bright finish.
M - Full bodied up front but finishes clean and dry like an IPA should.
O - Whereas some west coast IPAs go for nothing but hop flavor and aroma, this is really well balanced while still maintaining the signature floral hop notes.

355ml bottle. Shaker glass. Orangish amber color headed by white & wide crown. Piney, citric –orange & grapefruit- aromas, slight caramel malt & floral notes. Bitter upfront yields to a gentle sweet toasted flavor. Medium body. Moderate to soft carbonation. Honey hues in the middle are swept out by hoppiness that lingers into an extended bitter finish.
