Wow, I was not expecting such a good ipa when I opened this bottle. I have yet to find an ipa with such a strong hop precense yet be backed up with a good dose of maltiness. This beer had a clear orange color to it with a luxurious creamy head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is of a fruity hoppiness, mostly grapefruit but also some sweeter fruits as well. The taste is strong on the hop flavor, esp. up front. Grapefruitness provides a lip smacking bitterness. Floral hops are strong as well and a sweeter element also takes place. Honey maltlike sweetness comes in the middle. I notice some nuttiness in the base. The honey and nut flavor never comes to the fore front but provides a nice mixture with the floral hoppy flavors. The finish has a definite alcohol tone to it combined with the hops and it leaves a dry, spicy finish. The finish lingers. Body is medium thick. I could drink this beer all night.
