A 355ml bottle with an illegible BB date. Purchased just the other day from Trembling Madness in York. What's up with a antler-wearing bear?
Poured into a Duvel tulip. A clear coppery-amber hue with medium carbonation. Produces a huge head of creamy off-white foam with decent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of intensely resinous hops and caramel malt, with hints of pine, weed, woodiness, caramel, biscuity grain and earthy yeast. Slightly sweet.
Tastes of intensely aromatic hops with a powerful bitter finish. Notes of pine resin, dank weed, wood, caramel/toffee, biscuits, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Faintly sweet, with a strident bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly - hop oils stimulate the tastebuds. Pleasant carbonation and good body. Highly astringent; dries the palate thoroughly. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, pine and caramel.
A classic American IPA - pine resin and caramel malt. Looks good, with dank, bitter hops dominating the aroma and flavour. Smooth body. Solidly crafted and nicely balanced; a hop-head's delight. Well worth sampling if you have the chance.

Pours a clear copper with a big and very persistent head. Lots of lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is big citrusy grapefruit hops. Taste is mellow toasty carmel malt upfront. A little underlying malt sweetness throughout. Finishes with an herbal hop bitterness. Heavy creamy mouthfeel. This is a very rich tasting IPA. And by that I mean it has a fantastic maltiness behind the hops and even challenging the hops for center stage here. Also the heavy mouthfeel. Maybe the drinkability suffers a bit, but this is a great, and unique, IPA.

overall a good beer. This IPA seemed to have a little more sweetness than most but overall it seemed to balance out quite well. I like the way high IBUS but was pleased with this one also. Just a touch of creaminess added to the balance. Overall happy with this one. After reading other reviews, I was kind of mixed about trying, but once I did, I was glad I did...
