Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a clear golden Amber color with a slight haze. A thick, frothy, 2 finger head with good retention. Lacing is thick, and sticky.
Smell: Sweet malty aroma, fruity pear, tea, citrus and floral hop. A bready, yeasty aroma is present.
Taste: First initial taste detects sweet malt for just a fraction of a second, before a sudden and unexpected pungent, hop bite burst hits the taste buds like a flying brick. Fruity, earthy, and grainy flavors. VERY HOPY. A nice warming sensation from the alcohol. A bitter, tea like finish that lingers on the palate for a LONG time.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, oily, Slick, slightly chewy, medium bodied.
Drinkability: Very, nearly exceptional, drinkability.
Overall, this is one damn good beer that most hop-lovers would truly appreciate. I found myself thoroughly pleased at the complexity. I am adding this to my list of regulars.
