-light gold color with a good white head that sticks around for the ride as well as sticking around the glass
-sharp hop smell of the citrus and pine variety. some sweetness on the nose as well
-a bit of citrus hops up front and a good even keeled bitterness on the back end. has a bit of a sweetness to it that reminds of a single version of hop slam (which i had about 4 days ago for maybe the 4th time). that same kind of honey sweet taste. good overall balance
-carbonation is just right, not too heavy and a hint of oiliness
-this beer gets lost among the large number of very good northern california IPA's, but it is very good and very underrated. it comes in both cans and bottles too which is nice. i keep forgetting how much i like this beer

Pours a clear copper with a big and very persistent head. Lots of lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is big citrusy grapefruit hops. Taste is mellow toasty carmel malt upfront. A little underlying malt sweetness throughout. Finishes with an herbal hop bitterness. Heavy creamy mouthfeel. This is a very rich tasting IPA. And by that I mean it has a fantastic maltiness behind the hops and even challenging the hops for center stage here. Also the heavy mouthfeel. Maybe the drinkability suffers a bit, but this is a great, and unique, IPA.

overall a good beer. This IPA seemed to have a little more sweetness than most but overall it seemed to balance out quite well. I like the way high IBUS but was pleased with this one also. Just a touch of creaminess added to the balance. Overall happy with this one. After reading other reviews, I was kind of mixed about trying, but once I did, I was glad I did...
