12 fl oz. can with no apparent canned on date present. Interesting that this beer is also packaged in bottles, as I have only seen the cans available here in Illinois. My fifth review of a beer coming from a can!
Poured into a Firestone Walker pint glass.
A - Pours a beautiful cloudy burnt sienna orange color with a finger of doughy off-white head. Very appealing scattered lacing.
S - Can smell it from a distance. Juicy citrus grapefruit / orange hops, and a healthy dose of pine.
T - Lightly bitter / fruity hops and sweet bready malts in the foreground. Nicely balanced, to be sure, although I would have thought it would have been more bitter judging by the smell. Sweet tea leaf taste in the finish. Very nice light bodied feel and wonderful balance. Extremely tasty.
M - Some sticky hop resins lingering, but all in all, a smooth, clean, creamy feel. More bitterness present in the aftertaste, than when I was drinking it almost.
Overall, a delicious beer, my first offering from Anderson Valley Brewing Co., definitely looking forward to trying more. Highly drinkable stuff, with a nice 7.00% abv that isn't noticeable at all. I would be interested in having this beer from the bottle also, and seeing how it differs from the canned version, if at all. Regardless, it's a beer I will definitely try again.

Pours a clear copper with a big and very persistent head. Lots of lacing on the side of the glass. Smell is big citrusy grapefruit hops. Taste is mellow toasty carmel malt upfront. A little underlying malt sweetness throughout. Finishes with an herbal hop bitterness. Heavy creamy mouthfeel. This is a very rich tasting IPA. And by that I mean it has a fantastic maltiness behind the hops and even challenging the hops for center stage here. Also the heavy mouthfeel. Maybe the drinkability suffers a bit, but this is a great, and unique, IPA.

overall a good beer. This IPA seemed to have a little more sweetness than most but overall it seemed to balance out quite well. I like the way high IBUS but was pleased with this one also. Just a touch of creaminess added to the balance. Overall happy with this one. After reading other reviews, I was kind of mixed about trying, but once I did, I was glad I did...
