Poured into an Ommegang Chalice.
A-Opaque orange amber. Thin veil of beige bubbled effluvia on top leaves sticky lacing.
S-Hops are there, but not in your face. Floral and sweet, some mild citrus.
T-"Bites like an angry rattlesnake" is what it says on the bottle. I don't think so, perhaps "Nips like a friendly garden snake" is more accurate. It is very juicy and tastey, though, with a sweet finish. 7% Alcohol is not present at all, and this is an IPA that I will sample again; I just expect and want more hop bite. This is really hitting the spot after some yardwork; all this mulching gave me a killer yearning for some hop juice, and this pretty decent California IPA is hitting "the spot" but it's a bit mellow for my taste. I've had this before about 3 months ago, and was more impressed with it then; fickle me.
D-Goes down thoughtlessly.
CRUX: FRIENDLY CALIFORNIA IPA REFRESHER. **NOTE: I am beginning to suspect that this was an old bottle, will re-review in the near future a.s.a.p.

Poured from a 12 oz can (gasp) into a tulip.
A - Deep amber with about a finger of creamy light tan head. Sporadic lacing down the glass.
S - Floral and citrusy hops. I thought it would be a little more in your face (or nose), though.
T - Bitter earthy hops, but well balanced and a bright finish.
M - Full bodied up front but finishes clean and dry like an IPA should.
O - Whereas some west coast IPAs go for nothing but hop flavor and aroma, this is really well balanced while still maintaining the signature floral hop notes.

355ml bottle. Shaker glass. Orangish amber color headed by white & wide crown. Piney, citric –orange & grapefruit- aromas, slight caramel malt & floral notes. Bitter upfront yields to a gentle sweet toasted flavor. Medium body. Moderate to soft carbonation. Honey hues in the middle are swept out by hoppiness that lingers into an extended bitter finish.
