12 ounce can - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a clear, amber-hued body with a two finger-high head of near white foam.

Smell: Fresh citrus zest, notably strong resinous pine, with some lesser floral tones. Some pale, caramel malts showing beyond the hop aromas.

Taste: Bready pale malts sweetened up with a handful of crushed sugar cookies. Floral hops, but also fairly, firmly resinous, with some tangerine oil included. Medium bitterness throughout. Leisurely bitter, resinous finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A solid, basic American IPA.

Served from a bottle into a pint glass

WOW! An unexpected sight. Thick creamy head & lacing that stayed in the glass long after the brew was consumed. Burnt orange colour was very appealing.

Smell is delicious sweet grapefruity hops.

Malty upfront with a spicy pine aftertaste. WOW! (again). The balance is tremendous with the bready sweet malt & grapefruit bite.

Overall LOVE this brew.

12oz bottle poured into a New Belgium globe.

A: Pours a deep shade of orange with some brownish hues. Great clarity. Big, white, creamy head sits atop the glass forever. Lacing clings all over the glass in rings and spots.

S: Wildflowers and floral scents abound. Strong wave of pine resin too. Lots of tropical fruits: mango, tangerine, lime, lemon rind, and grapefruit pith. Honeyed malt scent underneath. Some biscuit too. Great.

T: Biting pine resin bitterness comes in a wave on the attack, but subsides just enough to let the rest of the beer shine. Lots of mango and zesty lemon. Leafy and herbal/earthy hops. Iced tea comes to mind. Slight toffee malt impression. Golden raisin. A touch bready/biscuity. Cannabis and pine resin again, along with bread crust in the drying finish.

M: Solidly medium bodied. Full, substantial, and somewhat chewy. Slight, prickling carbonation about the tongue. Great smoothness.

O: This is a very unique IPA that gets a lot of things right. It seems to show a little English influence with a solid malt texture in the mouth and some sweeter, toffee like malt character. The hops are very American though, and they bring a lot of complexity with just the right amount of bitterness. Well done.

On tap at National.

Appearance- Pours a light amber with a finger width of foamy bubbly head. Nice lacing left on pint glass.

Smell- Piney hops, citrus, grapefruit, caramalts.

Taste- Moderate piney hops upfront followed by the citrus, grapefruit and caramalts. A nice moderate bitterness at the end.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall- An enjoyable American IPA. Everything in this brew was spot on but for me I would have liked more bitterness in the taste (this is my own preference). This is a great beer to see where you stand with the style. Definitely worth a try.

12oz bottle

A - Pours a hazy amber with a two finger khaki head. Head retention is pretty good, and there is a good amount of lace that sticks around...

S - Sweet malts and citrus fruits. Scent is fairly docile...

T - Caramel malts up front with some tangerines and grapefruit in the mix. Finishes on grapefruit note with some lingering malt. Abv is well hidden. Pretty well balanced...

M - Medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O - Nothing above and beyond, but still a well balanced, solid IPA. Will be revisiting in the future...

Cheers...

Aroma here is predominately of pine resin hoppy goodness...a little earthy and malt notes peek through. However, very one sided.

Taste has an immediate crispness to it, letting you know it's indeed an IPA....but it surprises me by having a somewhat grainy, sweet body with a toasty or "husky" note to it....not that it's a bad thing, I actually quite enjoy that note and it led me to enjoy this beer. Finishes strong with a nice resiny bitterness that closes it out on a dry note without much lingering bitterness.

One of the more drinkable IPA's out there. Bitterness is pretty standard and average for style I'd say, and the body is pretty delicious.
