Pours a light a solid black with ruby highlights and a huge tan head that lingers and laces.
Smells of oats, some earthy herbal character (Fuggle?), and some grapefruit citrus and funky (citra/simcoe) hop. Really bready smelling, a lot like Sam Smith oatmeal stout.
Taste is dark fruit, bready oats up front with hints of chocolate and cherry that goes into a slightly roasted, toasted middle before ending on a chocolate and coffee taste. Really great, lingering finish.
Medium body and lower carbonation works well.
Great oatmeal stout; has a typical flavor for the style. Reminds me a lot of Sam Smith's but with a more American taste.
