Pours deep brown, turns jets black in the snifter, with a 3 finger head, and leaves some thin lacing. A rather generic as expected oatmeal stout here. Nothing impressive.
chocolate malt and crystal malt aromas. there is almost a bit of butter in here. Oats, coffee, chocolate are completely missing.
oatmeal here is where the buttery like flavors come from. There are light american citrus hops.
Well carbonated, light body, and rather creamy. I always find these types of beers hard to review/explain/put in context. It lacks the depth and feel of say a Guinness which still drinks like water but has the carbonation mastered.
Back to not how to review this beer. I want more coffee and chocolate flavors in a beer. The hop flavor here dominates, but is squelched before it really gets bitter. Instead it just starts to get a bit sour/citrus and then it does before the oatmeal notes come in.
