A: Poured a yellowish-straw color as it should with a small white fizzy head with a small dose of bubbles and faint traces of lacing

S: Plenty of barnyard on this with a nice wheat meets lemon smell. A nice sourness as you can expect.

T: Initial lemon tartness meets barnyard, like a horse stall would taste indeed. The wheat, brett and citrus, mainly lemon, really provide a good puckering sour experience but not overly tart and annoying. The finish is dry, sour and really lingers.

M: Light-medium bodied, well carbonated. The brett shines with the citrus as it rolls across the tongue giving me horse tongue. Pretty clean, crisp and refreshing even.... and easy to drink considering its a sour/wild.

O: Great beer, great name.

Poured from the tap into a sniffer at Bauley's Taproom during the AV tap takeover night. Body is a cloudy golden color with a small creamy white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of a mild wheat base, a touch of sweet pale malt, and a good dose of lactobacillus sourness.
Palate is big on fruity flavors, citrus, pear, and apple all popping up amidst the sour lacto backdrop. Mild pale malt and lends a touch of sweetness, but the finish is big on sour power. The body has a slightly silky character from the wheat, nice and smooth. I haven't really had anything inventive like this from AV before; it's nice to see them stepping out of their hoppy comfort zone a little.

On draft at Capone's

13oz tulip, poured w/out much head, and a little too cold.

Very cloudy, dull yellow body. Great lacing.

Inviting but not very strong aromas of tree fruits (mostly apple), light sweet spice, and touch of Belgian yeast. The funk comes thru much better as it warms and with a swirl.

Flavors pack a punch, given the low ABV. Lots of golden delicious apple, pear, lemon, yeast, bubble gum sweetness, and healthy dose of sweet spice.

Mouthfeel is crisp and tight. Light on the palate. Light tart bite.

Not one of the best in the Wild Ale category, but very well done given the low ABV (menu says 4.3%, and their brewer was just here this week, so I'm assuming that's correct).

"Belgian wheat barrel aged with brettanomyces."

Had on tap at the brewery. Reviewed from notes.

A: Served a clear golden color with a thin white head that left no lacing.
S: Brett, brett and more brett. Pretty funky. Notes of citrus as well.
T: Lightly sour brett as expected. The wheat really amplifies its baryard-like qualities. I get hints of citrus, lemon and golden fruits as well. The aftertaste has notes of Belgian yeast and crackery wheat.
M: Medium body, clean mouthfeel, and an aftertaste that coats my mouth and lingers.
D: The wheat went very well with the brett and made for a really refreshing brew.
