Brewed with a heelch* of Columbus, Chinook, and Cascade hops, our double IPA has a palate pleasing bitterness that is carefully balanced with a full-bodied malt foundation. With a deep color of polished brass and a nose that sings of pink grapefruit and redwood needles, the rich biscuit-like malt flavors intertwine with hints of vanilla, mangos, and peppercorns leading to a deep, warming finish. (*That’s Boontling for “a whole lot”)

Poured from a bomber bottle into my Deschutes tulip...

A - Pours a clear copper color, with 2 fingers of a dense tan head. Spotty lacing as it fades.

S - Aroma is slightly grassy/earthy. Not as hop-forward as I would expect a DIPA to be.

T/M - Once again, not as aggressive as I would expect a DIPA to be, but there is a piney/earthy hop profile on the front. A bready/caramel malt middle, and a resinous hop aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel.

O - If this were labeled as an IPA, it would've gotten a higher rating. I just don't feel that this brew was aggressive enough IMO to qualify as a "descent" DIPA. On the plus side, the 8.7% ABV is very well hidden. It's an OK IPA, but just left me wanting more.

355 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.7%. Hazy deep golden colour, large white head. Strong hoppy aroma of oranges / orange marmalade and grapefruit, hints of caramel and pine needles. The flavour is first fruity and fresh, then a ferocious attack of piney and grapefruity American "C"-hops sets in, and leaves you with a massive bitter finish - all on a background of medium sweet crystal malts.

Single 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden bronze with vigorous 2 fingers creamy off white head.
Aroma is captivating - sweet over ripe orange, mango, some hoppy pine, but sweet citrus dominates.
Taste is less defined - grapefruit, grapefruit rind, some orange, pineapple - bitterness carries the flavour with malt sweetness present but taking a back seat - slightly chemical
Full mouthfeel finishing with a prolonged herbal bitterness.

Drank 4/7/14 @ Candlelite.

Clear orange hue. Bright white head; thick lace.

Orange citrus, honey & slight marijuana nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Mild orange citrus & honey up front; a dry biscuit finish.

Flavorful & easy to drink; perhaps a touch too boozy & bitter.

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden orange colour with a generous off-white rocky head that lasts. The aroma is pine, citrus, caramel, and grains. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has a sweet and sour complexity. Nice caramel notes balanced with citrus notes

One of the best DIPA's I've had. Wonderfully balanced citrus, pine and floral hops, smooth finish.

Dropped in here today for the fourth stop on the Great Late Summer 2017 Road Trip. I'll stick with the place review from last time (apparently I come here once every five years).

5oz sampler. Beer is clear light golden brown in color, moderate carbonation. Aroma is slightly tropical. Medium body. Moderate bitterness. Some pineapple. Moderately sweet. Alcohol is somewhat warming. Lingering bitter finish.

From Optimus Beer. After dinner, in Roquetas de Mar. In shaker glass. Smooth to the palate. Very resinous, but with a refreshing sweetness that makes it not become a disgusting pine soup. High abv that affects

Pours a dark orangish color with a faint cream colored head. Almost no lacing on the glass. Smells like pine and caramel but the odor is very faint. Full pleasant mouth-feel with an great hoppy taste. Nothing incredible about this beer but it's a solid offering.
