Red-orange amber with an off-white head that loves to lace already. Looks approachable.

Pine and citrusy hops. Picking up grapefruit and spruce. A simple aroma with its own punch. Malt backbone isn't quiet, pouring out with cereal and lightly caramelized sugars.

Pithy grapefruit upfront. Notes of pine and balsam in a woody way. A great big smack of bitterness is here, along with copious amounts of alcohol heat. Some late biting malt that offers relief in the form of kilned sugar and toast. Something astringently bitter and floral in the mix, as well. Hard to relax with this flavor profile.

Hot and hefty. Truly, a sipper. Body is blended down to something easier, but the alcohol just takes over from there. Aggressively carbonated.

Not a bad DIPA. Can't speak eloquently about the high marks. I'll take it for what if offers; little in complexity, but a lot on hoppy bursts and pine/citrus tango.

A- poured to a snifter. Finger a half yellowish head. Slow to recede. Cloudy. Dark brassy orange color. A wee bit o lacing

S- hoppy nose to start with a strong malt backbone. Picking up banana and redwood. Layered but defined.

T- strong caramel at onset. Transitions to that malt backbone in the nose. Ends with some hoppy goodness. Not too assertive. Trails off grassy and earthy

M- not overly carbonated. Nice and smooth. A wet finish but not milky.

O- not a bad take on a DIPA. I wouldn't put it on my daily drinker list, but I also wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers

Pours a hazed golden amber hue with a fluffy two finger head and lacing all over, the smell is strong pineapple, fruit salad and toffee, the mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, moderate carbonation which suits and the taste is a nice mix of fruit salad, sweet toffee malts, pineapple and finished with a soft pine bitterness and overall it's not bad as it's A lot more user friendly than most big doubles and definately something I could drink more than one of cheers.

Pours amber with a large lasting head.
Nose shows heaps of pine and a fair whack of sweet clean malt. Pretty straightforward but still nice.
Very similar flavours but with some grapefruit and resinous notes along with a hit of booze.
Carbonation feels a bit full on.

355ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (£3.80):
Golden amber colour with 1cm, foamy white head with some lacing on the sides & holds pretty well.

Pine hops upfront with a lot of citrus & grapefruit backing it up, there is a hint of tropical fruits too that give the beer a refreshing aroma on the nose. There is a sweet, malty base to the beer with some nice caramel notes & a bit of mango and orange too.

Very bitter double IPA with lots of pine hops hitting the taste buds straight away, along with a solid grapefruit taste. Tropical fruits from the nose with the citrus coming through as well, but the pine seems to dominate here. Around the middle some caramel malts & a sweet base.

Smooth & very bitter with a medium body and moderate carbonation. The alcohol content is pretty well hidden in this one and the finish is a sweet one with a lingering bitter aftertaste & a nice tang on the tongue towards the end.

A great west coast IPA, coming through as intensely bitter & hop filled as you would expect from the start & also boasting a great, sweet and malt base than complimented the pine and grapefruit well. The alcohol was well masked & the beer was excellent from the start.

Pours a finger of white head atop a thin, clear, yellow liquid. The foam leaves lacing stuck hard.

A disappointingly subdued, peppery aroma of shy hops. Almost no malt in the nose.

Where's the malt, the sweet, or the bread that I want in a IIPA? The hop character gives grapefruit pith, rather than sweet orange or tropical fruit. A bit of pine on the back end, finishing bitter-dry.

Thin body, medium to high carbonation.

A quality brew, to be sure, but disappointing that it's merely an IPA on steroids, with none of the malt balance or bigger body or sweet fruit of the double IPA's I love: Hopslam, Chillwave, Hi Res, and Double Crooked Tree. Especially disappointing at $12.00 / 4-pk.
