Appearance is dark brown to black with about a half finger of head that dissipated quickly. The bourbon notes on the nose are subtle, but present. The flavor profile also has subtle bourbon notes that seem to take a backseat after the first few sips. The roast profile is pretty good and the finish is mild.
This offering is good, but there are a number of bourbon barrel stouts out there that are definitely superior.

A great beer, just needs to be a little thicker/richer. Flavors are awesome ... the bourbon notes really stand out, both in taste and smell. It pours beautifully ... nice color and wonderfully formed head. It just seems like it should be stronger/starker.
