Served in a snifter
A- pours a dark brown/black color with a decent size foamy and fizzy light-tan head, that has decent retention, leaving no lace behind
S- sweet buttery caramel with oaky bourbon juice, grainy malt with a hint of chocolate
T- the malt bill is very grainy up front, sweet caramel and toffee kick in mid-palate with a bit of coffee, oaky vanilla with a kick of bourbon on the finish
M- medium body and carbonation lead to a foamy mouthfeel and a smooth finish, high drinkability for the style, probably because of its lower ABV
O- the bourbon was more prominent than I expected, given the low ABV, however I think the base beer struggled to match up with the other barrel flavors. Still, very drinkable for a BBA stout

Pours and off very very deep opaquer brown with creamy tan head that held well. Thin collar. Aroma is some dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel sweetness. Taste is much the same with no noticeable bourbon or oak presence until the very end. Creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation and a body just on the thin side of thick.

Appearance: black in color, 3/4 inch head, low carbonation, opaque
Smell: light chocolate and roasted malt
Taste: oak, chocolate, toffee, cocoa--a bit of Tootsie Roll taste
Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation, heavy body, sweet with oakiness
Overall: I was impressed with the oakiness of this beer at first, but unfortunately the taste did not carry all the way through this beer. It was still strong enough, but I wish the flavor was a bit stronger. Still I would get this one again if I saw it on tap. Not quite what I would call good, but certainly one of the better brews from Anderdon Valley.
