- Aged in Wild Turkey burbon barrels.

A: Rootbeer-chocolate exit from the bomber appears a flat black in the vessel accompanied by a modestly sized 1 inch mocha marshmellowed textured head that remained amazing sturdy for a lenghty amount of time. High rate of rapid effervesce along the inner vessel walls. Milky thin sheet lacing with a generous amount of vessel coverage.

S: Small hints of scorched oak barrel, chocolate, sweet licorice appears on the nose. Burbon spicing, vanilla, smooth oaky and caraemle cream sweetness, nice level of awareness.

T: Caramel buttery oak flavor meets a light sweet milky chocolate base. Watery burbon spiciness, sweet caramel cream, vanilla, toasted coconut and oak mention really adds spice and flair to the event. There is some nice creamy chocolate, more sweet, blending nicely with the burbon aspect. Really nice burbon mention lingers after the swallow.

M: The body leans towards the lighter end of medium. Silky smooth in texture, really nice and gentle feel, albeit perhaps a bit thin and light for the hardcore BA stout fan more accustomed to heavier weight.

O: Overall really liked the Wild Turkey burbon barrel influence here, a burbon i am highly familar with from my youth straight from the bottle. Smooth spiciness, sweet caramel cream, thought the stout portion comes off a bit light bodied and seems a bit underweight per class like a feather weight boxer to a heavy weight. This is not going to be your typical huge BA stout to the likes of dark lord, Black hole, insert any other BA stout to your liking here, rather this seems like an easy and sweet milk stout with gentle burbon highlights perfect for that causual drinking in multiples despite its 6.9%abv which seems perfect here. I really enjoyed the gentle and sweet drinking nature it had to offer, showing not every BA stout has to be a malt monster and soaked with alcohol, this does nicely as a causual drinker and something i would consider multiples in with good company.

Pours and off very very deep opaquer brown with creamy tan head that held well. Thin collar. Aroma is some dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel sweetness. Taste is much the same with no noticeable bourbon or oak presence until the very end. Creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation and a body just on the thin side of thick.

Appearance: black in color, 3/4 inch head, low carbonation, opaque

Smell: light chocolate and roasted malt

Taste: oak, chocolate, toffee, cocoa--a bit of Tootsie Roll taste

Mouthfeel: moderate carbonation, heavy body, sweet with oakiness

Overall: I was impressed with the oakiness of this beer at first, but unfortunately the taste did not carry all the way through this beer. It was still strong enough, but I wish the flavor was a bit stronger. Still I would get this one again if I saw it on tap. Not quite what I would call good, but certainly one of the better brews from Anderdon Valley.
