With a bright, golden color and tight creamy head, the earthy wood undertones in our Gose develop into a light mineral aroma with a hint of lemon zest and tropical fruit. Before boiling, the wort is kettle soured with lactobacillus, imparting an initial refreshing tartness that gives way to a subtle fullness. Flavors of guava and peach are followed by a slight sea salt dryness and lemon sourness that is enhanced by coriander and post-fermentation additions of salt. The finish is dry, effervescent, and lemon tangy, reminiscent of a fresh sea breeze.

This is one of the most rated Goses on BA, so it’s surprising to me that I never saw it around anywhere until last week. I figured I might as well give it a go. Let’s see what it’s all about

Pours a cloudy pale gold with 2 fingers of creamy white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

The nose brings pretty standard stuff for the style but there’s a nice tartness to it. I’m picking up on aromas of lemon juice, coriander, wheat bread, peppery hops, pear skin, and light honey

It’s still solid in taste but a bit of a step down from the aroma. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting lemon zest, crackery malt, floral hops, apple skin, and honey. The swallow brings notes of lemon zest, pear skin, wheat bread, honey, coriander, and apple skin

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a crisp and refreshing beer. Finishes mostly dry but a bit watery

This is a very solid example of the style. There’s not a whole lot that can be said, but it’s very easy drinking

Pours gold with that slight, slight Gose reddish hue. The head is fluffy for a Gose and pure white. Excellent head retention for this class of beers too. What makes this beer so enjoyable is what you don't notice. It is brilliantly subtle--slight tartness, tropical fruit undertones, and salt. None of them pronounced or over the top. A great choice for Summer refreshment!

Holy Gose is slightly hazy and a liht amber in color. Medium CO2 supports a light, bone white head with decent retention.

As I hold this to my nose, the first thing I smell is bready, slightly grainy malt. Bready malt leads into a center where I'm picking up a lot of ripe, fresh fruit. The aroma of fresh fruit seems to be a combination of peach and white grapes. Holy Gose's nose has an overall vinous quality which I'm finding quite pleasant. A faint hint of sourness washes over all, giving the nose a nice cohesiveness.

On the tongue, Holy Gose is tart up front with a supporting salinity, giving the flavor profile a sort of mineral quality. Flavors of green grapes helps give the Holy Gose's flavor profile a notable and pleasant vinous quality. Hints of fresh baked bread round out the flavor profile, helping take the edge off the beer's overall tartness. All of this leads into a gentle dry finish that drops off quickly, leaving your palate ready for the next sip.

One thing I like very much about this gose is that it's sourness is not overpowering. It's assertive without being too much for your tongue to handle. The flavors of fresh fruit, salinity, and bready malt character help give the beer balance and take the edge off of what might otherwise be too much sourness.

Poured from a can into a nonic.

Pours nearly clear and light gold. Excellent carbonation. Limited head but good lacing.

Mild citrus aromas and general tart acidity on the nose.

The flavors are straightforward, simple, and on the nose. Faint pale malt sweetness on the tip of the tongue quickly gives way to tart acidity with a briny finish.

The brew is medium light, well carbonated, drying and drinkable.

This may be my favorite interpretation of the style.

The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose brewed by Anderson Valley Brewing Company, with an ABV of 4.20% This Leipzig Hose pours out of a 12oz can into a pint beer glass a nice hazy amber color with a small white head. There is also a nice amount of lacing to this brew, it sticks to the side of the glass well. Te smell is Rich with sour bitterness mixed with grains and malts. So far this is a nice inviting brew. Now for the taste, it is Bold with a lot of tartness. If you like a tart tasting brew this is one for you. You also pick up a nice amount of grians and malts in the taste as well. This brew would go nice with dinner or something to eat. The body of The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose is a solid medium. Like I said before it is sour an tart, not saying that is a bad thing. The mouth feel is Bold Rich tart, sour, clean smooth and Refreshing. Overall I think I am going to give The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose a 3.50 out of 5. I would like to look this brew up again givin the opportunity to, just to change it up again. Anderson Valley Brewing Company did a nice job with this Gose brew.

Look: Pours a pale, straw yellow with a dense head of white foam. Moderate lacing.

Aroma: Light, though Gose never really have too aggressive of a nose. Some tart, salty olive brine and lemon zest with sweet flaked oats and mild floral.

Taste: Initially tart with big lemony notes from the lacto - it's briny and almost like ocean water in a fresh, pleasant way. Those tart flavors suddenly turn savory sweet once the salt profile kicks in midpalate, creating notes of fresh baked sourdough pretzels and hints of cream. A little peach, just briefly. . . then some really quite phenomenal and delicious floral, crackery pilsner malt pokes it's head in just for a second to say hello, before the beer finally ends on light, herbal flavors of coriander and lemon peel. The flavors are short lived but genuinely tasty.

Feel: Very refreshing and light in body. Airy and bubbly. Good balance between sour/sweet/dry flavors, not cloying to the tongue. Sessionable without a doubt.

Overall: Simple flavor with a thirst quenching feel.
