Apiarius is not a sweet beer, though it is brewed with a generous charge of honey from our own hives (or from our neighbors when we run out). We achieve a a crisp, dry pale ale from sweet beginnings by fully fermenting all the sugars-this yields a satisfying but muted maltiness, a refreshing hop character, and a captivating honey-flower aroma and finish.

This poured out as a hazy yellow color with no head on top. There is a light amount of lacing though. The smell of the beer has some definite honey on the nose. The flavor is sweet, mostly honey and grains, no bitterness in there really. The mouthfeel is light bodied, very smooth, light carbonation too. Overall it's a sessionable beer, not one that really impressed me but it was decent.

A thanks goes out to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is almost nonexistent. Some very light honey and malts. Taste is mild hops, a touch of bitterness, honey, a bit of malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

Poured a clean pint of this from a growler I picked up last night.

A. Light straw body with little to no head visible and slight carbonation bubble rising to the top.

S. Smell like a nice light beer and a clean fresh yeast aroma and malts.

T. This is a rather bland beer but has a nice body and is very refreshing slight flowery palate and a clean finish.

M. LIght and smooth. It carries the "cold" to your tastebuds very well. I don't know if this would be very good if the temperature goes up.

Overall I would have one or two of these but would go for the shawnee porter anyday.

On-tap at The Gem and Keystone, Shawnee On Delaware, PA

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin, white head that gradually died down and left a patch of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: There are light to moderately strong aromas of floral hops and honey in the nose along with some notes of pale malts.
T: Like the smell, the taste has floral flavors from the hops, which impart a slight amount of bitterness. There are some hints of honey towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a slight amount of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer makes a pale ale a lot more interesting due to the addition of honey, but the honey aromas and flavors are subtle so as not to detract from the drinkability.

First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA

Poured a clear, golden yellow with a thin layer of bubbly white head that quickly receded to a ringlet. Aroma is pretty distant, toasted grains, floral, vegetal hop presence. Underwhelming on the palate as well, grainy, cardboard, floral and herbal hops with a moderate bitterness, and a dollop of honey in the finish that was nice but seemed almost misplaced considering the other factors of the beer overall. Mouthfeel is on the thin side, light-medium body, pretty crisp, with lower carbonation, aftertaste is dry and somewhat metallic. In a world of great APAs, this one just failed to impress.

This is a mellow brew made with honey from their own farm. Honey is there, but not overpoweringly so. Grain tones are there as well. Pretty easy to drink, though I could stand with a toned down grain character and a bit more honey. Nice way to start things off.
