I picked this up at Brass Rail in Campbelltown, enjoyed chilled in a cervoise.
The color is dark brown strong coffee presence with thick sandstone head clarity is hazed with very fine bead and lasting retention. The smell is full of malt with roasted and light bready aromas with a light cococa aspect and mild tobacco-like woody earthiness. The feel is alright with tangy and light roasted body with subtle creaminess and mild carbonation with low bitterness except there is a light tannic aspect I am not found of, mildly sour in the background.
The flavor starts woody without much malt sweetness more of an earthy dry and roasted flavor to begin with mild yeast adding a tangy quality almost like plum which starts to overtake the malt roastiness with hint of very dark cococa and some toasted bread crust in the finish. Overall I found this to be a decnent beer in general, but it lacks a little bit of malt depth. The light sour component while it isn't bad is not what I expected - the label really only mentions this is a second runnings from the Imperial Porter.

On-tap at The Gem and Keystone, Shawnee On Delaware, PA
A: The beer is very dark amber in color when held up to the light. It poured with a finger high dense and somewhat creamy beige head that has excellent retention properties and consistently left a small head covering the surface.
S: There are light aromas of roasted malts in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has moderately strong flavors of roasted malts along with some hints of dark chocolate. A light amount of bitterness persists through the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very sessionable—the nitrogen makes it go down very easily and make it feel lighter bodied.

Pours a very dark amber. Good clarity here. Off white head recedes to a ring. Aroma of roasted malt. In the taste, roasted malt and a little hops. Perhaps a small bit of raw chocolate. Light bodied and thin. Overall, this is just an average porter. Not too say its bad, just a bit uninspired.

Great color on this one. Really smooth flavor. Nice caramel and what seems like a bit of nuttiness. Really smooth and seemingly delicate, though strong enough to deliver the experience through the mustard on my sausages. Smooth feel. This is a very nice porter. My favorite of the ones I had at Shawnee.
