66cl (22oz) bottle poured into an Imperial Pint glass. Note to self: Get Birra Antoniana on this site to review.

Appearance: Screaming at me, and screaming loud -- ADJUNCT LAGER! The beer is a clear as day yellow color with a super bright two-finger head on top that goes away after a few minutes. Thin layer of bright foam on top, and decent lacing. Looks good for what it is.

Smell: There's basically nothing there. A very faint hay and corn sweetness sort of aroma, but it's extremely subtle. Nothing particularly bad about it, but I've never smelled a beer so uninteresting.

Taste/feel: Like the smell, faint as all hell... definitely drinking like a light lager. Some slight hay and corny flavors. Incredibly mild, and essentially just what I expected from this brew. The feel is thin with high carbonation as well. Really not nearly as sweet as some adjunct lagers here in the United States, which is probably due to the common American's obsession with sweetness.

I appreciate the fact that Italy lists ingredients on their beers -- the third ingredient in this beer is corn grits. Overall, it tastes like an Italian Budweiser. Nothing special here. I really got nothing out of this except a little bit of a buzz.

A - Standard macro lager appearance with a slightly more amber hue.

S - Sweet hay and something I can't pick out.

T - I can actually taste hops in this, which I am surprised by. Something lightly spicy/grassy and a light bitterness. Maybe Hallertau, considering the region.

M - Light overall, medium for the style. Hesitant. Lingers for a moment but then is gone.

O - I tried three (reviewed two) Italian macro lagers tonight. This was the best by a lot. The Peroni that I didn't review tasted like warm Pabst (a flavor I know very well thanks to college). This had some actual character.

Pours a nice clear appetizing amber, though the white head is a bit scanty. Aroma is mainly fruity, pear and apple, with a malty undertone. Flavor has a good malty foundation and firm notes of apple and pear, not special but still satisfying. Mouthfeel has average body and a decent amount of tingle. For a pale lager, not too shabby.
