22oz bomber poured to tulip

Pours a dark gold with mild haze. 1 finger of off-white head with moderate persistence and definite stickiness

Aroma is a tad understated: herbs, pine, grass, orange peel

Flavor is an interesting balance for 90 IBU.. runs a route from sharp to sweet to a lingering satisfying bitter. Good grain backbone.

Mouthfeel is right where you want it, neither thick nor thin and lively on the tongue

A well crafted beer that is going places. Admittedly, if you aren't into bitter you should go someplace else, but this one has dimensions beyond just a lot of IBUs

Pours a thin head on a hazy lighter straw body.
The aroma has orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine and background mango all wonderfully mixed up.
The taste is ramped up orange and grapefruit bitterness starting at the beginning with a long bitter finish.
The texture is crisp.
It's super hopped.

Poured into a pint glass from a 22 oz bomber.

Color is clear gold with a two finger white head. Good retention and lacing. Smell is citrus and juicy - orange and lemon with some floral aroma. Flavor follows the nose - some juicy citrus with a bit of a caramel backbone. Finishes with a nice lingering bitterness. As it warmed, more of the Citra lemony flavors started to come out. Body is medium with a lot of oil hop resins.

Overall, better than I expected. Very good.

22 ounce bottle poured into a large mug. 40720E0012138 is the code printed on the bottom. Wish I knew what that meant.

Pours fairly clear golden with almost no head. Very little carbonation. Smell is inviting but not noteworthy. Some floral, some citrus.

Taste is good but not terribly noteworthy either. More of the floral and slight honey. Strong clinging bitterness.

Mouthfeel is too flat. Overall, it's pretty good, but not great, and not exciting.

Got this one at Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht

From a bomber into a snifter
IBU: 90

APPEARANCE: Pours a two finger, medium looking white head with decent retention. Head fades to a foamy cap and clings to the sides of the glass. Hazy gamboge body with lower levels of carbonation evident. A half wisp remains leaving some nice splotchy lacing down the glass.

SMELL: Pineapple, mango, citrus lemon and grapefruit on the nose. Pale malts and honeydew melon as well. Much like their imperial IPA.

TASTE: Piney in flavor. More so than the nose had lead on. Pale malts, mango sweetness and piney hops up front. Bitterness at the swallow, moving into a lingering and flavorful finish of grapefruit, citrus, piney hops and more hop bitterness. A hint of mango sweetness is there, but this is more dominated by the piney, bitter hops.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Very creamy on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes a touch dry on the palate. Very nice. Some bitterness lingers.

OVERALL: This is very bitter, though luckily it is not simply bitter for the sake of being bitter. There is more than enough hop flavors here to make this one a very enjoyable brew, but at this ABV, it could be a touch less bitter so as to let some of the malt and hop flavor play a larger role. The nose showed more depth and variety here than the flavor profile, which was too dominated by the bitterness. Still, this is an enjoyable brew, just not all that complex.
