Tawny bronze with creamy pitted snowy head.
Flinty grain, mango, and golden syrup on the nose opening into lots of oily orange rind.
Icing sugared croissant and orange slurpy up front the light pine, Seville orange, and resin hops.
Tangerine sorbet and sugared white grapefruit end and lingered aspirin bitterness.
Lt-med, oily, some chew.
Juicy, with layers of citrus. Perfect balance of bitter and aroma – IBUs are firm but not overdone. Rock candy sweetness keeps it light, almost delicate. Brings a lot for 6.7%

Appearance- Pours up a decent amount of head which has okay retention. The head is almost a pure cotton white but has the slightest hint of beige. The body is a pale to medium amber which appears pale in the light. Lacing tends toward sheeting.
Nose- Lots of citrus and very juicy- I do remember this being somewhat of a juice bomb. Not as good as, but along the lines of, Sucks and Sculpin. Orange, lemon, and grapefruit are prominent. Some matchstick, some mustiness, a little bit of papaya, some tropical fruit. Some caramel and honey. Not overpowering but nice. A touch of lime.
Taste- Starts off a little more bitter than I remember- perhaps this is the effect of coming from a glass instead of the can. Starts off rather oddly for an IPA, as the pine and resin start first. Some citrus notes follow but nearly as much as is represented on the nose. Lots of earwax on the finish. Some touch of melon. Not a bad beer but not exactly the beer I remember it to be (although I guess it was a bit abrasive with hops the very last time I had it). I wonder if this is because of the can or age. I recently had Sculpin on tap and it certainly wasn't as juicy as I remember from a fairly fresh can. Lots of pine and resin, lots of wood. Even suggests some oak, it's so woody. Above average to good beer at the moment. Light orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit. There are the faintest touches of caramel and honey.
Mouthfeel- Between light and medium bodied with slight syrup to the texture. Okay carbonation but it has a little too much zing.
Drinkability- Becomes a little bit more accessible as the hop bitterness mellows somewhat but there is still a huge surge of pine, resin, and matchstick on the finish and linger. Pretty standard craft beer price for a six pack. Don't know if I would buy it again.
Overall- Above average to good. A bit of a letdown from previous encounters. Must try if you like hoppy beers that are more bitter than fruity. A maybe try if not. C+/B-. A 3.75 N 4 T 3.5 M 3.5 D 3.5 O 3.5
