This American Wheat beer is smooth, cloudy and full of creamy wheaty goodness. The use of an experimental hop variety added late in the boiling process provides a zesty full finish.

Taster at Tap n Fill. Hazy golden, wispy head. Wheat, light weizen yeast in the aroma. Taste comes in with bready wheat notes, normal weizen flavors noticably absent. Weak.

the name has changed slightly on this i reckon, just hefe now (certainly they dont have two of these going), which for not creative and style based names, i think i like a little better, less defiant, especially for a pretty derivative beer, but its not bad. its a little dull from the tap to me, not with the high white head and brightness i like from the style, bit its plenty fizzy when i drink it. the wheat can be tasted, a simple pale wheat malt base, and a less developed, almost cheaper tasting yeast to me, without the bright fruity phenols or the spiciness, or really even the drying tendency in this context, like this has some leftover malt sugar to it, light as it is, somewhat unflattering to me, especially with a little oxidation and something metallic in the background. this tastes like a hefeweizen sure, but its a poor example of one, a somewhat bastardized american one, and while certainly not the kind of thing hop valley does best, i feel like they could have brought a little more to the table here, like they know how to make tasty beer, but this is one of their weakest offerings to date in my opinion. it served its purpose today, but barely...

Served on tap into a hefeweizen glass at Cornucopia
A- Poured a very light cloudy yellow color with soapy head that left no lace
S- Not much in the aroma, some lemon, wheat, and mineral notes. Very faint
T- Some big and slightly tart lemon notes, lots of wheat and breadiness, some mineral flavor
M- Smooth, low carbonation, and medium body
O- Definitely closer to Widmer Hefeweizen than many of the more authentic ones in the style. Really lacking the banana, clove, and bubblegum notes. With that being said it is an easy drinker and a step up from Widmer as it does have enough flavor to be a decent wheat beer just not a hefeweizen.
