22oz bottle at 41 F with no bottle code on it. Reviewed entered from notes; actually drank it yesterday.

Pours clear, golden, with a medium head that dissipates quickly. Medium carbonation. Smell is grassy fairly mild, lots of grapefruit, a little floral.

Taste is very bitter, some straw-like sweetness, strong grapefruit rind/pine bitterness. Slight honeysuckle sweetness.

Mouthfeel is light and thin, smooth. Overall, quite good.

A: Deep gold with slight orangish brown tints. Medium well carbonated, but left low natural head. Left some large sticky bubbles around the rim.

S: Orange rind and grapefruit. Small amount of maltiness with a sunflower seed nuttiness. Feels a little light here though.

T: Starts off slightly sweet of light oak and fresh green grass. Big heavy alcohol oiliness fills out the middle. Big pine flavored hop backbone cuts the huge greasy alcohol. The hops carry forward with more sour apple and grapefruit and even a little unripened apricot. Finishes with a long salty earthy leafy finish way in the back of the throat.

M: For a 9%/100ibu beer, this is surprisingly drinkable. I didn't expect anything that big to be this mellow. The long dry salty finish is a little big, in no way surprising. A little viscous from the big dose of booze. It also feels like it coats your mouth too.

O: Truly a good example of the the imperial ipa. More of a double if you ask me. However, I felt it was slightly dry. It's not like a dry hopped dryness, but a wet fresh acidic dryness from boiling a lot of hops for a short time. It's clean and not muddled by all the earthiness that a dry hopped beer brings.. Thus, the flavor profile is great! Bright and citrusy and subtle fruitiness. The 22oz bottle is a little too much. A 8oz snifter would have been sufficient.

Poured 22 oz bottle into glasses and shared amongst friends. A nice fairly clear bronze-copper hue with a thin head and minimal lacing. Nice resin and pine aroma with a hint of flowers and citrus. Gorgeous flavors in this - piney citrus and honeysuckle. Very nice. Hides the 9% ABV quite well. Really nice body, silky and smooth. Overall, this is a fabulous IIPA.
