RB

12oz picked up at a 7-11 in Bend over the weekend... Poured tonight into my FunkFest goblet... Slightly hazed golden.. good enough white head with okay lacing.

Good fresh piney hops combined with a big resinous grapefruity aroma... a bit of pale malt ties things together well.. long lingering bitterness.... light body with good bubble.

Nothing wrong with the product... No real flaws at all, it is just pretty standard and nothing jumps out.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a thin white head that dissipates to light patches and little lacing. Good aroma of piney, citrus hops with light dankness, light caramel malt with citrus and tropical fruit. Flavor is lemony citrus hops, with some pine resin, mild sweet malt, lemon and grapefruit rind, finishing with grapefruit rind, resiny hops and light pine. Medium bodied. My third Hop Valley IPA and I've really liked the hop flavor mix, but wished for a more tasty malt to support the hops. Good strong resiny hops and a nice variety of flavors, but finishes a bit starkly. A good citrus/pine IPA that I will try again.

a - nice solid IPA color with small head out of a tap in a higher end restaurant. mainly clear, medium golden color for an IPA.

s- not very aromatic given many of the other very floral IPA types I had on the west coast

t - very easy to drink, no hard bite, but still a nice IPA flavor

m- great drinkability, could have had several more, nice level of carbnoation

o- would drink again on tap for sure if I can find it - not sure of its availability since I am the first review and this beer seems to just be coming to a wider market

Pint from "b2" Taphouse in Salem. $4.00 Lightly orange coloured body with a half inch white frothy head. Rather balanced aroma..spicy/citric hop and caramel malts. Nice. Taste is the same ..its rather well balanced and almost dare i say English in styling! Good smooth mouth feel and low bitter after taste. An easy drinking balanced IPA will not be to some peoples taste, but it was fine and drinkable.

Served on tap into a becker glass.

A- Poured a clear orange color with soapy off-white head that left no lacing.

S- Big pungent hoppy aroma of grapefruit, orange citrus, floral, piney, and mango notes.

T- Big pungent and hoppy flavor profile with huge grapefruit, orange citrus, and mango notes, some floral, piney hops, and a nice caramel backbone.

M- Soft carbonation, lighter bodied, and slightly watery finish.

O- A very nice hop forward IPA with a nice malt backbone. Very complex hop flavors and aroma with a touch of malt sweetness for some balance.

Pours a dark orange with minimal head.

Smell is of grapefruit and orange, some pine. Nice citric component.

Taste is light malts and hop zest. Orange, grapefruit, biscuit, toast.

Mouthfeel is lightly carbed with medium feel.

Overall I think this is an average IPA with no off flavors to speak of but not alot going on. Run of the mill really.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a dimpled mug.

Appearance: golden hue with a dash of haze and little apparent effervescence. Head is a thin layer of white foam. It's decent enough.

Smell: hoppy with a little bit of citrus character and a fair amount of dank earthiness. Not bad at all.

Taste: moderately bright hops with a nice citrus character and a fair amount of tropical flavor. It's on the earthy side of tropical, but I'm getting a good mango character here that I really like. Quite good indeed!

Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess for the style.

Overall: I like the earthy mango. It works for me.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a shaker pint glass. Pour is dark orange/amber with thin, white head and virtually no lacing. Aromas are strong grapefruit and tangerine. Flavors of tropical fruit and medium roast malts. The finish is medium dry with piney bitterness. Overall a solid, if unremarkable IPA. I've had a few of their other IPAs and while I might not crave this one, it is one I would gladly buy a 6 pack of.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. 284 A-1 2046 is the bottle code.

Pours clear golden with very little head and a fair amount of fine, very slow carbonation. Smell is a little hay, a little orange blossom, mild but nice.

Taste is also mild but nice. Again a little citrus fruitiness, strong lasting bitter finish. Slight honey flavor.

Mouthfeel is a little still, pleasantly chewy. Overall, it's pretty good.
