Tyskie, ABV: 5.6%.

From notes:

A: A bright, golden-coloured liquid, and a white head that quickly disappears.

S: The smell is lightly citric with hints of musty basement.

T: A watery taste of citrus, candy, banana bread and paper, with a minor chemical bitterness. This is quite scary stuff.

M: Sticky carbonation. The body-size is small.

O: This beer is better than nothing if served ice cold on a hot summer's day in Central Europe. Otherwise - No, Thank You. Rumours say this beer used to be better.

Pours a completely clear, golden color and is topped with a generous white frothy head with average retention.
There is the basic malty and grainy aroma, easily picked up, but nothing special about it.
It starts with a bit of sweetness at the start, the body is nicely grainy and balanced. Slightly dry and bittery finish goes nicely with the light taste.
A decent lager, perfect for refreshment.

appearance.
-a clear lagery gold pour, about a finger of head. dissapeared in seconds.

smell.
-not much there. a little grain. a little yeast. maybe a hint of abv.

taste-
adjunct. flat. grain hints washing around in there, slightly dry but not at all offensive
maybe a slight (very slight) hops memory. nothing signifigant.

mouthfeel-
reminds me of cheap american adjunct lager, but with less carb.

overall-
not over impressed, i had figured by the bottle and the fact that its polish,
that it may have been slightly better, even to compare with stella and hieneken
and the other main euro's, but this is just sub par for me.. the lack of head makes it slightly unappealling as i had expected something a bit different than what i got.
overall tho it isnt horrible, its drinkable and it goes down easily, I just perhaps had higher hopes and perhaps drank it in the wrong glass or at the wrong temperature..
I may buy this again out of sheer wonder wether or not i got a bad one.. but if it does remain as flat and basic, there are much better beers for the price...otherwise.. its an unoffensive euro. and might be just not travelling well.

I picked up a 6 pack in the unusual shrink-wrap packaging .
The "born on" date says 11-11-13 .
A diminished golden color .
It has what i'd call the Baltic lager taste to it . Butter-scotchy, caramelly lager-y funk.
Slightly off-putting but, it's the style and I guess, the mass-production of it .
A nice abv of 5.6% which is ideal I think for a session-y kind of brew.
I had a bottle of spicy-hot V-8 in my fridge so I made a redeye/michelada with the Tyskie with good results.
Not bad but not outstanding .
Polish swill, I guess.

Found a twelve pack of this at Total Wine in northern NJ for $10.99. I have some Polish friends but this went unmentioned so I figured I would at least try it. The bottle was freshly dated properly at 4-15-14. Here goes the rating...

Appearance - Very clear golden color with medium carbonation, poured into a lager glass with about a 10 mm head and some decent lacing left around the sides. Looked quite refreshing and I couldn't wait to try that first sip.

Smell - Sort of sweet and malty with some grains. Sort of smells like an average adjunct lager... BRB, going to get another one to make sure! There is something going on here that I cannot place. At one poinit I almost thought I noticed fruity bubble gum.

Taste - Definitely some fruit of a sort... maybe apples, citrus, wait... lemon! I don't know but it definitely has a smooth dry finish. Not unpleasant to drink.

Mouthfeel - Sort of light, but dry. There is a bit of acidic flow going on too. Aftertaste is odd, but again, not unpleasant. Drinkable.

Overall - No problem downing a cztery of these on a night out with my Polish przyjaciels! I'll try to let you know how it went in the morning.

Well, got a 6 pack of this for Christmas. I'm Polish so I guess I have to drink it.

A - Poured into my Duvel tulip a crystal clear golden hue with a thin one finger head that fades almost immediately with no lacing and thin light wisps.

S - Aromas of light lager yeasts, faint grassy hops, light sweet malts, faint fig like aroma.

T - Taste is light lager, faint grassy hops, light lager fruit. Adjunct sweetness. Clearly macro made and light across the board except on sweetness. Awfully sweet but that is the norm for this region.

M - Mouthfeel is lighter, nice carbonation, drinkable.

O - Overall, this is on the sweeter side as far as Polish lagers go, but, that is basically what the region wants and likes. Least it was not skunked considering it's a clear bottle.
